This week, we celebrate 60 years of Medicaid—a health lifeline for millions of Americans signed into law by President Lyndon Johnson in 1965. In California, the Medicaid legacy lives through Medi-Cal, which provides care for 15 million of us. #Medicaid60
Today we gathered in community with partner organizations to uplift the legacy of #Medicaid60, the 60th Anniversary of the landmark program that to this day, provides millions of Americans with access to healthcare. Known as Medi-Cal in California, this program is a lifeline to the children, parents, day-laborers, and so many more in our state. We celebrate the 60th anniversary and also acknowledge that we have more work to do.
