Grateful for the opportunity to attend the Alaska Oil and Gas Association (AOGA) Conference this week alongside Dustin Shannon. Alaska's oil and gas industry has helped shape our state for generations and continues to create jobs, support communities, and drive economic growth. It was great connecting with customers, partners, and industry leaders who are helping build Alaska's future. Alaska Communications is proud to support the industry with the connectivity and technology solutions that keep teams connected from the North Slope to communities across the state. Some leaders don't seek recognition. They simply step in wherever they're needed. That’s where you’ll find Alex Olson.   Whether he's helping elders, volunteering at community events, supporting Tribal traditions or mentoring younger students, Alex has become someone his Nenana community can count on. One of Alex's most meaningful contributions is helping families dig graves for loved ones who have passed away. We're grateful for the opportunity to support students as they head back to school.   Since 2025, our employees have helped provide 800 backpacks filled with new school supplies to youth across Alaska and Oregon.   Thank you to our employees and community partners, like Big Brothers Big Sisters of Alaska, for making this possible!   Happy International Youth Day! 

For Tessa Davis, justice isn't about punishment. It's about helping young people rewrite their stories. Through Kodiak Teen Court, Tessa helped young people take responsibility, rebuild trust and move forward through restorative justice. Along the way, she's organized statewide conferences, led fundraising efforts and mentored the next generation of student leaders. When difficult education funding decisions threatened opportunities for students in Kodiak, Tessa stepped forward as an advocate, speaking up for her peers and helping ensure student voices were part of the conversation. This summer, Tessa took that passion for public service all the way to Washington, D.C., where she completed an internship with U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski. From advocating for students in Kodiak to gaining firsthand experience in our nation's capital, Tessa continues to find new ways to learn, lead and make her voice count. Whether she's leading in the courtroom, her community or on Capitol Hill, Tessa shows that the strongest leaders are those who stand up for others when it matters most. We're honored to recognize her as a 2026 Summer of Heroes honoree. Summer on the Kenai Peninsula is a busy season, but members of our Soldotna team still made time to give back. An employee group recently packed backpacks filled with school supplies for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Kenai Peninsula. Before long, these backpacks will help kiddos head back to school feeling prepared and confident. We're proud to support local nonprofits and thankful for team members who are always ready to lend a hand.

What happens when two friends decide they want to make a difference?   Adam Kaufman and Liam Cuddy created Youth Philanthropists Alaska, a youth-led nonprofit that's already inspired hundreds of students from more than 25 schools to give back. Through quarterly events, students learn about local nonprofits, donate their own money and vote on where the group's collective gift will go. Together they've raised more than $18,000 for Alaska nonprofits while showing other young people that anyone can make an impact.   Their leadership is creating a new generation of givers and we're proud to recognize them as 2026 Summer of Heroes honorees. We can always count on our Juneau team to show up for their community.   Last week, they packed 70 backpacks with brand-new school supplies to help local students start the school year ready to learn. Our friends at the Zach Gordon Youth Center at the Juneau City Of Borough will help distribute the backpacks to families throughout the community.   What a great example of teamwork and giving back!
