Is a Skellige side quest with suggested level 18.

Comes available after helping Hjalmar and Cerys in side quests "The Lord of Undvik" and "Possession".

After completing the above quests, head back to Kaer Trolde to receive a reward from Crache. As you enter the main feast hall, a cutscene will occur where one of Crach's servants will greet Geralt and describe what is happening inside.

Once you get closer, you will see Cerys and Hjalmar arguing. After talking with Hjalmar, you can optionally decide to have a fist fight competition nearby by talking with Hjalmar. The reward for winning will be a steel sword from Hjalmar. Afterwards, head to the Crach's room to find Berna leaving his room.

After talking a lengthy talk with Crach, there will be some loud shouting from the feast hall, and Geralt runs out to see that there are lots of Bears attacking people in the feast hall. Only three surviving potential members to be King/Queen will survive. Cerys, Hjalmar, and Svanrige Bran.

Crach is blamed for the bears attacking members in the feast hall, and he and his son and daughter must find out how and why the attack happened. At this point, Cerys and Hjalmar both have different ideas on to how to deal with the issue at hand, and you can decide to help one of them. Who you help will determine who becomes King/Queen.

If you choose to help Cerys, you will stay in the room. Use witcher senses to examine the bodies, and the bears. After examining the bear, there will be a more detailed examination on the head, tarso, limbs. Geralt determines it was a human once, and something he ate or drank caused the transformation. Use witcher senses to examine the drinking apparatuses to find the cause of the contamination. Once you find it, use your witcher senses to follow the scent, and it will lead to the front of the room, behind the door, and a small drinking glass. Geralt will call Cerys over, and she says to ask Hjort if about the smell from the glass.

After talking to Hjort, Cerys thinks they drinks may have been tampered with in the cellars. Head to the cellars with Cerys. Once arriving in the cellar, head down the stairs, and examine the barrels ahead and to your right to find the barrel that was contaminated. As soon as this happened, someone throws a torch to burn and suffocate you and Cerys. Head towards Cerys, and there are a bunch of barrels blocking a passageway, break through using Aard, and continue following Cerys in the tunnel. You'll find a Quen sign place of power along the way.

You'll eventually arrive back in the keep, Geralt says he heard a something break before the fire started. Head back to the cellar door with Cerys to look around with witcher senses. There will be some mead, so follow the mead trail. When the trail breaks off , examine the nearby wall to find a piece of cloth. Cerys recognizes it as Armvald's tunic. As you get close to where he is, he rides away on horse.

Ride after him on your horse, when you get close swing at him with your sword to end the chase. After catching him, he will confess, and it was in fact Birna Bran who was the mastermind behind the attack.

There will be a cutscene with Cerys explaining to the rest that Berna Bran was the one at fault for the attacking. Armvald steps forth to say his proof. Geralt also steps forth to show the letters Berna sent to Armvald. Both of these are not enough proof to clear Clan an Crach. After, Berna Bran's son comes forth and accuses her mother. From this, they she is found guilty, and will be sentenced to death.

This will be the end of the Quest.

After that, Crach says there will be a Jarl's council and time to pick a King, and you can join him, or meet him later. The is the quest "Coronation" which is just a cutscene witnessing the person you chose to help become King/Queen.
