Ciri is the trueborn daughter of Pavetta, the princess of Cintra, and count Danya, also known as Emgir var Emreys, heir to the Nilfgaard empire during the novels' timeline (i.e. before the games, so Emgir may be the 'imperial highness' Geralt meets with in the trailer).

Ciri's and Geralt's destinies became intertwined after the fall of Cintra. With the Wild Hunt chasing her, Geralt can only hope to find her first.
