The AI Double Standard in Art
I notice a lot of established "traditional" artists quietly using AI for illustrations and commercial work. Their defense? "It’s heavily edited." Yet they keep their "traditional" label, omit the AI tag, and get praised for their popularity.
Meanwhile, I put massive manual effort into correcting, editing, and refining my pieces—yet I’m expected to strictly tag everything as AI and get grouped in with automated spam accounts.
Creating quality art with AI right now is harder than ever due to model instability. If "heavily edited" AI art lets established creators skip the rules, why should anyone else follow them? Is transparency just an "honesty tax" that punishes smaller creators?
