the teacher hasn't let us take photos or videos in 3 weeks while he continually adds assignments that we can't do.
I'm a videographer who took this class to improve my composition, unfortunately, he also doesn't teach us anything about composition, just random photoshop/premiere pro stuff. The stuff he puts on for the class to watch every day isn't even unique, he's shown us the same video 3 times about sound design, I don’t know if he has dementia or is doing this on purpose because he doesn’t give context for it.
-Mr. Blowers doesn't register in his mind that any of his students would like videography or photography, which is probably why he doesn't give any feedback on pictures, and he never gave useful advice for my videos. (he AI generated the advice. The AI probably didn’t even watch my video because it took off points for lacking music, which was almost as loud as my voice… mb). we have no idea if he's even qualified for this job, because none of his videos are well made or cinematic, the hardest thing he did was green screen.
-Continuing that, this guy literally said he was too busy to give feedback on my… 30 second video, and continued to say with a straight face, "yeah sorry [name], I'll watch that video in around 2-3 months" NO JOKE. He has said multiple times to rate my videos (in a few weeks, never happened) but now he just jumped straight to MONTH??? Also last semester photography, when you check who visited your website, it shows 1 user, yourself, so that’s concrete evidence he doesn’t look at it.
-he also gets mad at us kids within half a second. I've done many things not on purpose but he always assumes kids are doing things with bad intentions and he banned me from being able to go outside multiple times. (everything I did was a 3 second fix btw) he also always assumes the worst from people's hearts always expecting kids to ruin things, he definetly patronizes us. BRO HE FU*KING STARTED CHASING [me] AND SHOUTING AFTER I STEPPED 2 FEET FROM THE BOUNDARY.
-He gives multiple assignments, each taking lots of effort…      but never watches most of them, he grades on a random number generator and gives unfair scores. One of my friends who is kind of bad was doing academic dishonesty and testing if 2 people submit the same video at the same time to the same assignment, what grades they would get, and one person got 65/75 and the other got 75/75. WHAT? [Me] personally on that project I turned in my Model UN position paper from november for a video project and I got 65/75 LOL.
He never teaches on his own and he puts on youtube tutorials so it seems like he's teaching. He also tries to make kids use adobe learn but that feature is a LITTLE bit dogshit because it only focuses on using 1 feature of adobe at a time and never shows any cool effects such as cloning yourself, which uses multiple features at once in adobe.
-When the principal comes he makes up stories about him paying attention to the students. LOL
-he kicks kids out of class BEFORE passing period because he's busy. when you ask him what he's busy about, he says he has to get ready for lunch.
he gets mad if you eat in class, but he also eats every day during class too, and before lunch, and microwaves something every day.
He leaves class for like 10 minutes almost every day and he comes back in a terrible mood???
He targets and only punishes 2 kids, the only two kids whose name he remembers because his teaching isn't interactive at all
he uses random kids to do his work even while they have HIS assignments they have to complete.
He forces random kids that he doesn’t like to do 1 choice in the assignment even though you were supposed to be able to pick. "hey! he might've just copy pasted the wrong prompt in chat gpt" nah. he lets other kids do what they want. BUT I MEAN THIS IS LITERALLY AN ART CLASS WHY IS HE SO RESTRICTIVE??
-he also gives us ai generated assignments that are quite useless to our learning, he assigns assignments to tum in AFTER the class ends (next semester) because he's so oblivious
-he doesn't let us take photos even when weather is good, just because he's busy. he isn't actually busy, he watches youtube shorts in class and makes his lunch (maybe also g**ns because he got SUPER scared after his search history popped up on the projector in class), he keeps accidentally glitching his computer and slowing kid's progress and blaming the kid for it and changing their seats and creating further problems when he changes the seat with someone with bad vision.
-he gives GoPros to people in a fu*king photography class, not videography and says oh no too bad wait next time.
literally EVERY single kid hates this guy, even teachers dont like him either. He got super mad at a kid for accidentally taking the lens off a camera (indoors, no dust, 1 second, the camera is supposed to do that), while he himself left a camera in Mr. Kreiling's room and emailed Kreiling he would pick it up a day later, but accidentally forgets and according to Mr. Kreiling it's been 3 weeks… he then gets mad when a kid returns it to him. WHAT.
he overcomplicates intuitive things, forcing people to learn things that are common sense, so you wouldn’t get better at it by watching a mandatory tutorial, you would get better by doing it more. Except he always blocks the computer screens so that you can't practice. Is he even human?
Recently, [me] and [redacted] started to suck up to him. In the first few days of the class, we were low key bad kids and we always got bad grades from him, but suddenly I acted like I was engaged in the work while I was really not, and I talked to him more about video editing sh*t that was made-up, and… my grade went up. That's illegal for a teacher by the way.
-he keeps shouting at kids to shut up even when its passing period and it's another day of doing nothing
-he does random things without telling people in advance like changing seats so that files wouldn't save and then you get a new computer and lose all your progress. it's like he didnt even plan it out!!!! oh wait of course he didnt
-he acts chill like he's a good person but he has 3 reckless driving charges, one of them involving a DUI
-he gets mad at people for using their own headphones. what the fu*k? what does this guy expect for us to do with them?? we lock in and do my assignments so much better with music, and when i listen while taking photos it always gives me inspiration for the mood.
he also kept kids in a super small boundary without anything to photograph for a whole 2 months, and then he got too lazy to enforce it and now kids are roaming the school again. [redacte], [redacted], and [redacted] made it to CROSSROADS during class.
-He randomly just takes whole weeks off of school, very often. He leaves us with a sub who doesn’t let us do anything related to the class
He shoves adobe certification exam prep down our throats. Literally no one wants to do that, it's outdated and the best measure of how to see if someone is good at film is to… see their videos
