• Hello Team,

First of all, thank you very much for this great plugin!

I would like to replace the default WordPress search functionality with Meilisearch. However, from what I can see, your plugin currently only provides a custom search block that displays instant results using Meilisearch.

My goal is to have the standard WordPress core search to use Meilisearch as well (instead of the SQL search).

Is there a way to achieve this with your plugin? If not, is this something you plan to support in the future?

    Thank you in advance!

    Hello @benniledl ,

Thank you for using our plugin and for your patience regarding our delayed response.

You’re absolutely right — at the moment, the plugin only offers an autocomplete search block.

We’re currently developing an enhanced search experience through an Instant Search block, intended to serve as a replacement for the standard core search. However, due to some limitations within Gutenberg and the time required for proper research and development, we’re still in the process of ensuring that the block will be user-friendly, fully functional, and easily extendable.

While we’re actively working on this feature, we’re unable to provide an exact timeline for its release. Rest assured, we’ll notify you as soon as it becomes available.

Once again, thank you for your continued support and for using our plugin.

    Regards,
    Pono Press
