im thinking about the buckley siblings…….and how in s1 the writers probably never even intended for buck to have an older sister or had thought about it that hard and then in s2 they cast jlh and were like we need to come up with a way to integrate her into the cast easily…….i know! ☝️ lets invent an older sister for buck! and then within like 8 episodes they were one of the best most compelling sweetest dynamics in the show……..and within half a season they were one of the best sibling duos on television ever…….and their relationship has only gotten deeper and more complex and more wonderful over time………who is doing it like them truly
yeah they put buck to work in the late hours of the evening then sent him home out the back door with a doggy bag and a lil wave but the thing is that buck wasn’t hurt by that, or anything, because he wasn’t expecting anything. he provided his service and now he has no reason to stay for longer so he just goes. he literally wasn’t expecting to be invited to join i mean remember, he is supposed to be learning how to be alone
quick linguistic history lesson. the term “woke” originates from african american communities to describe being “awake and aware” of the current sociopolitical climate. this term has been used since at least the 1930s. it wasnt until 2014 during the ferguson protests that the term entered the wider vernacular. mainly as a result of black twitter. and as is common with many things coined by the black community. it was repeated and commercialized to death to the point where now most people only using it mockingly. including people on the left. the point is. “woke” is not a bad word. the alt right wants it to be one.
The middle seasons Athena/Bobby/Michael dynamic is just the funniest relationship imaginable.
Athena can’t turn around without Bobby and Michael robbing a bank, organising a heist on the neighbours, or smashing up her house.
Michael has to constantly deal with their kinky Captain/Sergeant shtick, and them traumatising the kids with roleplay bullshit.
Bobby arrives at a fire scene, and his wife and her ex are immediately there for no apparent reason.
Athena’s husbands have unionised and Bobby is the third in a marriage that’s already over and Michael’s best friends are his ex-wife and her new husband.
ok so. I’ve been thinking. what if leia’s “thing” is that she’s imperceptible in the force. like, she’s so innately powerful at shielding, she’s just not there. Anakin didn’t know padme was having twins because he literally couldn’t sense leia’s presence. yoda and obi-wan were fine with bail taking leia because they couldn’t perceive her thoughts, even as an infant. neither reva nor vader could penetrate her mind. she spent years in the senate alongside palpatine and he had no idea she was force sensitive. the only person who can see leia for who she really is is the one who has been there from the beginning — luke.
