It’s finally here! Chapter 1 of my Ella Enchanted SPOP AU! I’m so excited to share this with you guys because this is the first fic I’ve actually written and published in a long time. It feels good to get back into the groove of writing and I’m proud of what I’ve done so far!

Teenagers are rarely taught the reason why they can't consent to sex with adults.
And that's because teaching them that would completely unravel our coercion-based society.
It can be difficult to explain in detail the exact reason and all the specifics in a way that they will understand. But the simplest way to phrase it is that in some cases, even when someone agrees to something and even when they appear enthusiastic about it, there's too much of a power imbalance that it's no different than forcing them. Also, having power and being abusive doesn't require a conscious expectation to be obeyed.
Imagine a world in which every teenager understood that and was easily able to call out anyone who tried to convince them otherwise.
They'd know that there's no such thing as an employee consenting to working for a poverty wage, working in unsafe conditions, working long hours, or working without taking breaks. They'd know that there's no such thing as consenting to paying a bank overdraft fee. They'd know that there's no such thing as consenting to student loan debt. They'd know that there's no such thing as consenting to medical bills. They'd know that there's no such thing as consenting to generating profit for banks or landlords in order to have a place to live and being evicted or foreclosed when you lose your source of income. They'd know that there's no such thing as consenting to a police search. They'd know that there's no such thing as a child who's okay with their parents spanking them. They'd know that being dependent on someone does not mean that you can never criticize them. They'd know that if it's considered abusive to simply play along when someone obeys, then it has to be much more abusive to actively expect to be obeyed, which many adults do to them.
And people who benefit from a society based on coercion masquerading as freedom wouldn't like that.
So instead, teenagers are taught something dismissive. They're taught that what they want doesn't matter. They're taught that they're too young to know what love is. They're taught "it's the law". They're taught things that are insulting to their intelligence, which they'll naturally rebel against.

i’ve successfully evaded bad jokes by jeff/writing prompts/drawing prompts for a while i think but just in case he’s still lurking out there he majorly contributed to this too and made a ton of really racist/islamophobic posts
This is especially relevant now that staff deactivated Ahmed aka 90s-ghost's blog, and more than a years life-saving work he did verifying fellow Palestinian's fundraisers.
Ahmed's been on tumblr for more than a decade, has had a news article written about him, been in fandoms, has many close friends on here, etc etc....he's a real human being that tumblr staff very much knows is a real person. Vaspider and Badjokesbyjeff are absolutely responsible for directing organized harassment and mass reporting his way, and staff are going to get Palestinians killed by deactivating 90s-ghost.
He's kept so many people alive this past year through tumblr, and deactivating his account cuts off hundreds of families from their best hope of raising desperately needed funds for survival supplies as Israel bombs Palestine. In some places it's illegal to consensually choke your boyfriend. In other places marital rape is not a crime. Develop a moral compass instead of expecting your government to tell you what is right and wrong.

You expect me to believe you’re acting on anything other than a petty grudge? No. You want accountability then be accountable and show me the callout so I can be accountable too. Otherwise you’re just entertaining me with your desperation to try and make me delete. It’s not gonna work. Even if I were shown the callout, went “yeah okay this is all me” and “yeah this is callout worthy” I still wouldn’t be deleting my account bc it would be far more useful to use my own mistakes to educate my followers on better decision-making. You are not humanity’s saviour, you’re probably an angry teen or young adult lashing out at the world for making you suffer in order to live. I get it, I’ve been there too. Take your vitamins, try to sleep, and find things you actually enjoy doing to do with your time. Life gets a lot better when you realize we are all stuck on this hell planet together and someday you’re gonna have to learn to play nice with people who suck, and that doing that is going to allow you to do a lot more good than this nonsense.

It's not just to have a "do over" that doesn't involve the original cast, it's to cut them out of the royalties. Literally the entire point is to make sure all the money made by Harry Potter goes to transphobes or people willing to work with transphobes.
If you watch it, you are supporting bigotry, hate, and oppression. That's just objective reality. All for a story that you probably have already seen in movie and book form.
