the smooth collie
listed as vulnerable by the UK Kennel Club, the smooth collie registers fewer than 300 dogs per year, a shocking mere 54 in 2010! though increasingly rare, the smooth collie was promoted by queen victoria who kept both rough and smooth collies within her personal kennels. the breed has done work in a variety of different specialties from herding to agility, but also makes a great mild-mannered house dog!
