MoreI hate to say it, but I think Mindhunter shouldn't come back.
It's crazy to think it's been nearly six years since Mindhunter last aired on Netflix and was quietly cancelled by both the streamer and David Fincher after just two seasons. I won't deny that I still wish the show had gotten a proper ending, but I do think that the show is better off not coming back, as every time Fincher talks about it, he sounds less interested in revisiting the material, and I would only want him and creator Joe Penhall to return if they felt inspired to do so. Plus, I don't really see Mindhunter as being a show in which there should be a conclusive kind of ending, as Holden and Tench are not really characters I imagine getting happy endings, or closure in their lives.
Who should be the villain in Henry Cavill's long-awaited Highlander reboot?
After years of waiting, Chad Stahelski recently revealed that Henry Cavill's Highlander reboot is finally set to begin filming in September, with the goal for a 2027 or 2028 release. While the story isn't yet known, given the original movie pit Christopher Lambert's Connor against Clancy Brown's Kurgan, who was certainly a physically imposing foe, I find myself wondering who should play the villain to go against the already-strong Cavill. If Cavill is indeed playing a new version of Connor, I think Olivier Richters would be an excellent counterpart, especially after his great turn as Paulie in Reacher season 3.
What's your favorite stormtrooper helmet variant in the Star Wars canon?
While you can't go wrong with the classic Imperial Stormtrooper bucket, there are so many cool variants in the Star Wars galaxy. I'm a big fan of Rogue One's Deathtrooper and Shoretrooper helmets, though my absolute favorite has to be the Scout Trooper helmet first seen in Return of the Jedi.
Why do people have visions in the Final Destination movies?
The Final Destination franchise is back with the release of Bloodlines, and in my latest rewatch of the series, I again found myself wondering just why it is that so many characters have premonitions in the movies. Where most stories explain a family member having psychic abilities, thereby acknowledging that's how said characters get their visions, the horror series never does so. Part of me can't help but think Death is giving them the visions, being a bit bored with the original plan and looking to shake things up, and potentially get more bodies, by letting them have the premonition and only prolonging the inevitable.
I absolutely loved Andor's finale (but now I'm sad for multiple reasons).
Andor's series finale episodes were incredible, and I was floored by the quality of the storytelling and how it ties right into Rogue One. However, the final shot of the show is so sad and how it changes Cassian's sacrifice...but I got even sadder when I realized how hard it's going to be for Lucasfilm to produce another show or movie of this caliber again. My fingers are crossed for the future, but I'm actually pretty bummed that Andor is done!
After the new Superman trailer, does Nicholas Hoult feel right for Lex Luthor?
The new Superman trailer gave us our best look yet at Nicholas Hoult's Lex Luthor, and he also had some new voice lines. It's clear that Hoult's Lex will already be a major hater of the Man of Steel, and I really like how he looks. While I liked Jesse Eisenberg as a villain, he never felt like Lex Luthor. I already feel like Hoult's Lex is going to be an exciting improvement.
I don't think I am emotionally prepared for Pedro Pascal's return to The Last Of Us.
We all know that Pedro Pascal is returning as Joel in The Last Of Us season 2, episode 6. Even though this will be a flashback, I truly do not think I am emotionally prepared for it. Having played the game, I am certain that I know what sequences and conversations are going to play out and each and every one of them is going to hit me right in the feels. As a parent, this one is going to be extra rough. Obviously, I am looking forward to seeing him again, but I am absolutely going to have tissues handy.
Patrick Schwarzenegger would have been the perfect choice for this Christian Bale remake, right?
Don't get me wrong, I love Austin Butler and I think he will do a great job as Patrick Bateman in the upcoming American Psycho remake, but Patrick Schwarzenegger was right there. After seeing him in The White Lotus season 3, I have no doubt in my mind that he would have been the perfect choice. His character, Saxon, is already very similar to Bateman, and he nailed that role. I would have loved to see him take on this iconic role in the Christian Bale remake. Oh well.
Sydney Sweeney's new movie looks crazy, and I am so here for it.
Sydney Sweeney is starring in Americana alongside Paul Walter Houser and Halsey. The official trailer was released by Lionsgate today and this film looks absolutely crazy. Essentially there are a whole lot of people fighting each other to take possession of an artifact that they want to sell on the black market. No one is holding back, with everyone clearly winning to kill for the prize. This is going to be a bloodbath of fun, and I cannot wait to see it on the big screen.
Is Netflix renewing Bridgerton for seasons 5 and 6 exciting?
Netflix has released a teaser for Bridgerton season 4, which premieres in 2026 and will focus on Benedict and Sophie's romance. Adding to that, Netflix has revealed that Bridgerton has been renewed for two more seasons, with seasons 5 and 6 confirmed to be happening. I couldn't be more excited, as the series is the perfect romantic piece I could hope for, with twists and turns, great chemistry, and charming characters. Francesca and Eloise should be the focus of seasons 5 and 6, with Bridgerton likely ending with season 8 in the future, telling stories for the whole family.
Bridgerton has been renewed for two more seasons, but will season 6 be the last?
While I'm a little annoyed there is still no official word on whether there will be another season of Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, I'm glad to hear that Bridgerton has been renewed for seasons 5 and 6. However, I'm wondering whether season 6 will be the last. Seeing as Francesca's story is half-boiling at the moment, and there will be more of it in season 4 alongside Benedict and Eloise's respective arcs, it would make sense to end with season 6. The show only needs to cover Hyacinth and Gregory now, and the upcoming three seasons are more than enough time to wrap everything up.
Will we ever get another exclusively handheld gaming console? Or has that time passed now?
I've noticed an uptick in handheld devices that go alongside bigger gaming consoles recently, especially with the rising popularity of the PlayStation Portal since PS5s have become easier to get hold of. While the Nintendo Switch redefined what a handheld console is, since then, there hasn't really been a new device on the market that is strictly handheld. A lot of people are buying those third-party Game Boy-esque consoles online that you can play older games on, but I feel that the era of exclusively handheld consoles may be completely over now.
Why can't HBO's streaming service stick to a name?
When HBO's streaming service was launched in 2020, it was called HBO Max. It was then changed to just Max in 2023, but yesterday, it was announced that the service is rebranding yet again and is going back to HBO Max. It's not uncommon for these kinds of services to change their name. For example, in the UK, years ago, there was LoveFilm, which was then acquired by Amazon and became Prime Video. However, HBO has changed names three times in five years, which is making me wonder what on earth is going on at the HBO offices.
What does A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' delay mean for the show?
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms being delayed to 2026 doesn't mean anything for the quality of the show, but HBO is really testing audiences' patience with this franchise after House of the Dragon season 2. To wait this long for a TV series, especially one that will only have six episodes, might be a frustrating disappointment, which the franchise really can't handle right now.
I'm convinced David Corenswet will be the best live-action Superman after the new DCU movie trailer.
The new trailer for James Gunn's Superman movie shows a lot more of David Corenswet's Superman. While I know that it is still early to make such bold claims, I believe Corenswet has the potential to be the best live-action Superman when all is said and done. The trailer shows how he can easily switch between Superman and Clark through the tone of his voice, which is perfect. There are multiple moments that showcase how he embodies both sides of the character beautifully, and Superman's story is set up to be emotional. Based on that, Corenswet's Superman can shine brightly.
Is Nicholas Hoult's Lex Luthor the President of the United States in James Gunn's Superman movie?
DC has released a new Superman movie trailer. In the DCU footage, when Lois Lane talks about the President, the camera cuts to Nicholas Hoult's Lex Luthor. The villain has been the President of the United States before in Tom Welling's Smallville, DC Comics, and more. Based on what we have seen of Lex in the trailers, with him employing people like the Engineer, I don't think he is the President just yet, but the line in the trailer could be hinting that it is his ultimate goal.
I'm kind of surprised by the lawsuit against Dave Franco & Alison Brie's 100% RT horror movie.
Ahead of the movie's release, Dave Franco, Alison Brie, WME, Neon and Michael Shanks are all being sued for copyright infringement over Together, with the creative team behind 2023's Better Half alleging that the horror movie with a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes is a "blatant rip-off" of their film. I'm honestly kind of surprised that this lawsuit is only moving ahead now, given it's been four months since Together premiered at Sundance and, as such, could have had a complaint brought against it sooner. Given the suit alleges the two were pitched on the movie, but passed on it, I'm curious to see what ultimately comes of the suit, though considering it's Shanks who wrote and directed the movie, and did it on his own, part of me thinks the Better Half people may have a tough time arguing their case.
Did the new Superman trailer give away too much?
When James Gunn revealed that the Superman teaser trailer only scratched the surface of the film, I was kind of worried about a subsequent trailer being dropped, as I felt the first one showed more than enough to get me excited and left enough a mystery. With the new trailer being longer, I was definitely worried it'd give away too much, but I'm actually glad to see that I still don't fully know what the plot of the movie is. It's clear David Corenswet's Superman is still in his early days of heroism, is being held accountable for collateral damage, and that Lex Luthor is a villain, but everything else still feels nicely unexplained that I can't wait to see James Gunn's full vision.
Rogue One just hits different when you watch it after finishing Andor.
Rogue One is, and likely always will be, my favorite Star Wars movie of all time. I have watched it multiple times, and it always hits me right in the gut. This is part of the reason I was so excited when Andor was announced. Thankfully, that series is just about perfect and adds so much meaning to Rogue One. After the series finale of Andor, I watched Rogue One again, and wow, it just hits differently. It gutted me even more than I ever imagined it could. It is so crazy to me how Andor came after this film, and yet added so much heart and emotion to it. I highly recommend watching it again after you finish Andor.
What is the best part of the Ironheart trailer?
The Ironheart trailer is finally here. While I have to admit I keep forgetting about this series because everything released is so few and far between, I am genuinely excited for it. It will be strange to see this character without Tony Stark, because of their strong connection in the comics, but with Ryan Coogler involved I am sure this will be great. The trailer has a lot of great moments, but for me, it was her dynamic with Anthony Ramos' The Hood that has me most excited. If memory serves me right, he is a bit of a bad guy in the comics, so I am interested to see where this relationship goes.
