The long-touted Marvel Cinematic Universe miniseries, Ironheart, gets another significant delay as a new listing confirms the Disney+ series won't make its debut anytime soon.

Per The Direct, Marvel recently filed a listing for the Ironheart premiere with the U.S. Copyright Office which seemingly reveals a debut date of Sept. 3, 2025. The registered date is listed as "projected," and it could be an approximation and may shift around, if necessary. However, the listing suggests Marvel doesn't plan to release Ironheart before the late summer of 2025. Neither Marvel Studios nor Disney have confirmed this date.

The reported series premiere date change comes after it was confirmed Ironheart was pushed back to sometime in 2024 after initially set for release late this year. However, a later update to Marvel's calendar revealed in September saw Ironheart pulled from the 2024 calendar altogether while other MCU series such as Daredevil: Born Again and Echo were moved back. The calendar shifts came amid the long-standing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes that gripped Hollywood since May and July respectively, with the latter still ongoing.

In September, industry insiders reported the likely reason Ironheart has been pushed back so far is due to Marvel wanting to sync the show with the release of Don Cheadle's upcoming film, Armor Wars, which centers around James "Rhodey" Rhodes/War Machine. Like Armor Wars, Ironheart has ties to the Iron Man franchise, with the titular character inspired to make an armored suit mirroring that of Tony Stark. Armor Wars has yet to receive a release date.

Riri Williams/Ironheart made her live-action debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, fighting alongside Shuri (Letitia Wright) and the warriors of Wakanda as fans got to know the character's origin story. The role was played by Dominique Thorne in her MCU debut, with Thorne expected to reprise the role in Ironheart as the titular Chicago-born MIT student-turned-superhero. Thorne appears in Ironheart alongside Anthony Ramos, who plays Parker Robbins/The Hood, an ally of the eponymous character who sports a hood which allows him to tap into the dark arts and magic. Captain America: Civil War's Jim Rash and This Is Us' Lyric Ross also feature.

Ironheart Will Span Six Episodes

Ironheart will consist of six episodes, with the action-adventure series being part of the MCU's Phase Five. The show was filmed between May and November of last year, with Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes each directing three episodes. The miniseries was created by Chinaka Hodge, who most recently wrote the Netflix horror mystery-thriller, The Midnight Club.

The Ironheart series is scheduled to premiere via Disney+ on Sept. 3, 2025.
