Over 6 years ago, I launched dAmnMessenger with the intention of bringing the deviantART Message Network to Android phones everywhere where people could about art and engage in their community. While it served its purpose in some ways, it unfortunately didn't get as much traction as I had hoped, and I noticed that a lot of deviants switched their no longer use dAmnMessenger. At it's peak, dAmnMessenger had 1000 simultaneous installs, but now it is well bellow 500 and active installs would be much lower.
Today, I have unpublished dAmnMessenger from Google Play. Over the past month, deviantART had upped their server version and unfortunately t
For those unfamiliar with Conway's Game of Life, it is a simulation with 4 simple rules (Taken from Wikipedia):
Any live cell with fewer than two live neighbors dies, as if caused by under-population.Any live cell with two or three live neighbors lives on to the next generation.Any live cell with more than three live neighbors dies, as if by overcrowding.Any dead cell with exactly three live neighbors becomes a live cell, as if by reproduction.
I was bored so I decided to make it with simple logical gates. I ended up making an 8x8 board with wrapping edges.
Here is the outcome:

Hello everyone,
I have some bad news, I have decided to discontinue devStash2.
What does this mean?
You will not be able to download devStash2 and will no longer receive updates.
Why is devStash2 being discontinued?
It is currently broken. It causes crashes and there are no folders.I do not feel that it is up to my quality standards. It needs to be fully redesigned (visually and programmaticly) and that would take time. I make practically no money on it. It is just not worth my time to work on it at the moment.
Will devStash2 ever return?
Possibly in the future. For now, assume it will not for a long while, if at all.
Sorry for the i
Hello everyone!
Today I am announcing something new for dAmnMessenger - a BETA tester group.
What is a BETA test group? A beta test group is a limited group of users that will be testing unreleased versions of a product (in this case, dAmnMessenger). The main goal of this group is quality assurance - Becoming a BETA tester means you will be up against app crashes, app freezes, app malfunctions, strange behaviors, and more. Your job will be to report all crashes and bugs to me. Doing so will allow me to make sure the app is up to snuff before pushing it to the general public.
Becoming a BETA Tester for dAmnMessenger is by invite only. To b
Hello, today deviantART issued an update that broke the thumbs on many third party applications for dAmn. I have worked as fast as I could to fix this issue and I have pushed a fix [2.119] to Google Play about an hour ago. Google Play should be serving the update as I speak. If you have not yet updated, I recommend you do so. A full change log for dAmnMessenger can be found here: http://pastebin.com/sQweri4V .
Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience,
~Karson Kimbrel~
After months of work I have finally released dAmnMessenger, the successor of Cria. I hope you all find the changes to your liking. You can find out more by clicking on the thumb. :)
The second generation of Sta.sh on the go has arrived and it has come to all Android devices running Android 2.2+. This wonderful redesign of devStash takes full use of the current Sta.sh API provided by deviantART, allowing you to take full control over your Sta.sh. devStash2 supports uploading both images and video* from your phone straight to your Sta.sh. In the initial release will allow you to view your Sta.sh, upload new files to your Sta.sh, rename folders, and copy folder and file URLs for sharing. Features coming soon include the ability to modify files uploaded with devStash2, the ability to move files from one folder to another,
I just finished up the Cria 1.107 maintenance update, I will be uploading it to Google Play sometime tonight after I get home. I would upload it now, but I do not have my keystore on my mobile setup to sign the *.APKs with their respective signature. The update will include 3 crash fixes and support for non standard network connections (ie a bluetooth Internet connection).
It is that time again, time for me to talk about development! :la: It has been awhile since I've made a journal entry, so a lot has happened. As an app developer, I am entrusted with certain responsibilities, and I am expected to carry out to the best of my ability. One of my responsibilities is to inform the user of any information I gather from them. I do not feel it is ethical for me not to inform the user. I am currently constructing a privacy policy for my apps. Users of my apps are highly recommended to read over the privacy policy when it is posted.
