As you probably already know, we're in the midst of celebrating the launch of our first true "IGN" Website this week. While the Imagine Gaming Network had been around since 1996, January 12th marks the ten-year anniversary of N64.com changing its official name to IGN64.com and the date that IGN.com turned into a daily-updated, multiplatform destination.

Not only do we have a ton of special features planned for the anniversary, but we've also created a brand-new IGN channel dedicated to the dozens of gaming systems that have come before the current generation of consoles: IGN Retro. IGN Retro is your home base for all classic platforms, as well as for recently-retired (yet still loved) systems such as GameCube, Xbox, and the original PlayStation.

Not only will you be able to find archived information on tens of thousands of games on IGN Retro, but we'll also be updating the site regularly with "History of" pieces, retro reviews, and a host of other special features all related to older platforms. This is a comprehensive history to the origins of IGN, and may just bring back a few memories for you if you've been with us over the past decade.
