USGS 28-day average streamflow maps show drought conditions continuing to expand from the mountains to the Piedmont areas, with Georgia taking the brunt of the rainfall deficit. The NOAA 3-month precipitation outlook predicts the parched conditions to creep further into the Carolina Piedmont and Coastal Plains, as well as South Georgia.

Hurricane Matthew Information Portal

The USGS South Atlantic Water Science Center (SAWSC) deployed most of the USGS Storm-Tide Network along the Atlantic coast to monitor the timing, extent, and magnitude of the storm tide during the passage of Hurricane Matthew. This data is available from a web application portal at http://stn.wim.usgs.gov/fev/#MatthewOctober2016.
