JP: Hollywood River Adventure Refurbishments Completed & Miscellaneous Site Updates
Date: Friday, March 4, 2016 - 20:57 (Eastern) Author:Tyrannosaur
Jurassic Park: The Ride is now open after a lengthy refurbishment, Inside Universal has learned.
Featuring new dinosaur skins, general fixes and infrastructure improvements, Jurassic Park: The Ride underwent a lengthy two-month refurbishment starting in January during the parks traditional winter off-peak season. While refurbishments for Jurassic Park are routine, this years downtime focused primarily on reconstructing the splash down track with crews dismantling the existing track and replacing it with new stock.
Crews also repainted the rides rockwork, the splashdown lagoon and portions of the Environmental Systems Building show building.
Internally, Ultrasaur Lagoon features two Ultrasaurus with a new brown and tan skin. The small Stegosaur over at Stegosaur Springs, meanwhile, also sports a brown and tan skin. The larger Stegosaur remains the same.
While the falling Ford Explorer remains inactive, Universal did add a more powerful sound simulating a falling car. As guests continue to pass by, Dilophosaurs spitters -featuring new skins ambush the watercraft from either side. As guests are ushered into the Environmental Systems Building will encounter two Velociraptors one of which remained out of service during our ride.
The main finale did not feature any notable changes

Did a bit of house keeping through the various sections as of late. Adding borders and changing alignments specifically. Kind of refitted our costuming section somewhat too. Then realized I forgot entirely about the new Jurassic Park arcade game that came out! So I corrected that.
Jack Horner talks Jurassic World: The Exhibition and Spielberg
Date: Friday, March 4, 2016 - 10:05 (Eastern) Author:Nublar7
Paleontologist and Jurassic Park franchise scientific adviser Dr. Jack Horner spoke with the Herald Sun about the upcoming Jurassic World: The Exhibition at the Melbourne Museum and working with Steven Spielberg.
Horner, who is attending the official launch, has helped shape Jurassic World: The Exhibition.
Im reviewing all the content, he says. Most kids know more about dinosaurs than I do and you dont want a sixth-grader correcting you on the weight or height of something.
The same way you correct Steven Spielberg on the finer points of dinosaur behaviour?
Exactly. Doesnt necessarily mean he listens. Really? Well, you know, Spielbergs making a movie. Im there to make sure its as accurate as we can make it, so there are no glaring errors. But they make their story before they get hold of me. They dont want me interfering with that story.

For those interested, I've created a Jurassic Park Legacy Facebook Group for people to join. This isn't replacing the forums of course. Just giving us another social outlet to use. Staff from the site such as Richard Levine, Dinos4Ever, Sickle_Claw, and myself are the admins of the group. They can approve people to join and/or add them too. Members as well can add other people to participate in the group.

Been throwing some sections together and have been somewhat slow to do so because of having a bit of a health scare back in May. I'm fully recovered now and back to feeling motivated. These are the sections below that have been thrown together. Some have had a bit of a soft launch though and not given an official announcement by us:
Jurassic World Toys - Classic, Brawlasaur, Hero Mashers, and Playskool (These had a soft launch with no official announcement and popped up in a period of a couple of months.)
Jurassic Park Builder - Updated with the current release information and new screen shots.
About Jurassic World - Updated with information from the release, links to the characters for the Encyclopedia, and dinosaurs encountered in the film with links to their encyclopedia entries.
Work will be continuing on the missing sections and as always the Encyclopedia is being constantly revised and updated. Specifically our knowledge has been updated regarding the canons' organization.
Update - 2/29: I got these sections up too within the last two days. Happy leap day!
I would love to get the Matchbox Sets for TLW and JW together as well as the Jada Toys, but I'm having trouble getting the images and a handle on all the products. So if anyone wants to help with this, click on my name in this post and send me an e-mail. You'll be given a shout-out in the section for your help.
Preliminary work was also done on the Jurassic World: The Exhibition section. It still needs people's experience and more pictures of course to fill it out totally.

Time Out Melbourne has new information on the upcoming Jurassic World: The Exhibition and a first look at the Pachyrhinosaurus.
Today at Creature Technology headquarters, Millar is putting the final touches on a curious brachiosaurus, who will inspect visitors as they enter Isla Nublar (the fictional island off the coast of Costa Rica and the site of the ill-feted Jurassic World park). Millar controls a large robotic arm, which determines the dinosaurs movements. Once hes happy with the movement (the brachiosaurus is based on scans of a real skeleton, so that the mechanism reflects the positions of the bones of the real creature) hell add them to a series of loops that will run during the exhibition, so that no visitor ever sees the same sequence twice. It should feel dynamic and real," he says. "When the brachiosaurus looks down at someone and makes eye contact, they should feel like theyve made a connection.
You might not find Chris Pratt or Bryce Dallas Howard on your trip to Jurassic World, but you will visit the Hammond Creation Lab, learn about real-life palaeontology and encounter all of your favourite mega-reptiles, from a peaceful mother pachyrhinosaurus (pictured) and her baby to you guessed it a truly terrifying T-Rex. Yes, the exhibition is family friendly. No, that does not mean parents shouldn't use discretion when deciding whether to introduce littlies to the big-toothed beasts. Enjoy your stay, visitors.
