The 2013 Chapel Allerton Arts Festival is now over and we hope you all had a great time. We really enjoyed this year, from the fabulous music on stage across all three days of the main weekend to the events around Chapel Allerton in the week before. We had a magic and illusion theme this year and a few of our highlights were:

  • Our first ever Art Trail, organised in collaboration with Inkwell, where local artists exhibitied work in a number of different (some quite unusual) venues around Chapel Allerton. Everyone had a lot of fun at the launch night, dressing as gnomes and hunting for all the gnome installations, as well as looking at all the great art.
  • Great family activities along Well Lane and in the Methodist Hall on Saturday, including a Potion Shop run by local children and the Thackery Medical Museum, Urban Angel’s acrobatic rig, wonderful magic-themed acts on the Performance Space, a giant wizard who gradually materialised throughout the day and some really creative and engaging activities in the Methodist Hall.
  • A really wide variety of events during the week for all ages, it’s great to have venues like the library, Seven Arts and Inkwell to work with so that we can add breadth and depth to an already excellent weekend of music, food, stalls and family activities.

The Festival is entirely run by volunteers and all monies raised from sponsorship and bucket donations goes directly to fund the next Festival. We always need more people to help out and there are many different opportunities to take part from stewarding to running a stall; joining the organising committee to sponsoring the event. If you would like to find out more, please get in touch.
