Oro Negro has ordered two Pacific Class 400 jackups from PPL Shipyard in Singapore at a combined cost of $417 million. Delivery is scheduled for the end of July 2015 and 3Q2015, respectively. Both units will be capable of drilling HPHT wells and rated to work in water depths up to 400 feet with a rated drilling depth of 30,000 feet. The rigs are destined for Mexico. However, they are not yet contracted.

BG Group and Ophir Energy released the results from the Ngisi exploration appraisal well drilled by the Deepsea Metro I (UDW drillship). Ngisi-1 was drilled to appraise the 2010 Chewa gas discovery and to explore the Ngisi prospect. Gas pay was discovered in Ngisi with a high net to gross reservoir interval. Pay was also encountered in the Chewa reservoir as expected. Upon completion of the well, two sidetracks were drilled to further delineate the discoveries. Results from the wells have increased the mean recoverable resource estimates of the Chewa-Pweza-Ngisi hub from 3.7 Tcf to 4.5 Tcf. BG (operator) and Ophir hold 60 percent and 40 percent interest in Block 4, respectively.
