Waking Mars coming to Windows, Mac, Linux and Android next month

Tiger Style Games' action adventure space game on iOS, Waking Mars, is coming to Windows, Linux, Mac and Android devices next month, the studio announced on Twitter. The developers said on Twitter that the Android version of the game will only use touch controls, while the PC version offers keyboard and mouse controls. "You'll definitely get to enjoy the art more, now," the studio added. Tiger Style Games is yet to confirm when the game will be available on these platforms, but Joystiq reports that it will be a part of the next Humble Indie Bundle coming in November. Waking Mars is currently available from the iTunes App Store for $4.99. The game is currently listed on Steam Greenlight for PC, Mac and Linux.

Windows 8 Marketplace will sell 'mature' games after all

Microsoft is changing its guidelines for content on the Windows 8 Markeplace after the original guidelines barred developers and publishers from uploading content rated "mature" onto the store. Under section 6.2 of the original guidelines, the Windows 8 Marketplace did not give certification to games or apps with a rating over PEGI 16, ESRB Mature or a corresponding rating under other ratings systems. This meant that games like Dishonored, Max Payne 3, Spec Ops: The Line, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and others would not be available in the Marketplace in territories like Europe, where all of the above games are rated PEGI 18. Players will be able to unlock Halloween-themed masks for Max Payne 3 if they tune into Rockstar Games' Social Club multiplayer event this Friday, Oct 26. The Social Club multiplayer event will run from 4 p.m - 7 p.m. ET and players will be able to join in on any platform. If players have played at least one full game in the Oct. 26 Social Club Playlist, two unlockable Halloween masks will be available from the player's Head Items section under Multiplayer Loadouts. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance's premium package for Japan includes Cyborg Ninja skin, magnetic toys

In Japan, Konami will release a pair of premium version packages for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, packing in a slew of special edition goods including a pair of Dwarf Gekko toys that come with sliced-up battle damage. Those two Dwarf Gekkos also feature magnetized bodies that can be pulled apart, referencing the sword-based slicing action prominently featured in Revengeance. Updates to Love, a first-person shooter/massively multiplayer online hybrid, will allow players to create private servers, which unlock cheats, rides to the game's moon and more, according to PC Gamer. A patch for the Xbox 360 version of Silent Hill: Downpour is available now with many important tweaks, publisher Konami Digital Entertainment announced today. Major League Gaming Fall Championship events and prizes detailed

Over 1,200 players will compete in Major League Gaming's Fall Championship, which caps out the fall season with $180,000 in prizes to distribute from Nov. 2 through Nov. 4, 2012. Turbine, the Boston-area MMO developer behind The Lord of the Rings Online, laid off an unspecified number of employees today, reports the Boston Globe. A representative for Turbine's parent company, Warner Bros. Ubisoft released a new video today that gives a behind the scenes look at a recent closed beta for Anno Online, the upcoming free-to-play city building game built for browsers by Blue Byte. At about five minutes into the video, a developer shows the Adobe Flash-based game running natively in Google Chrome.
