Nascar aka the turn left game :) , no there are tactics involved in the game when to pit/fuel/tyres/engine stats and so on, over a 100 lap race you get them wrong your not gonna win.

basically drive in a circle/oval and crash into other cars until there are no more cars left, over and over until it gets boring after just 10 minutes.

At least EB Games has a 1 week trade in policy :D

Apparently the game will be released without any cars, just the race tracks. You have to download the cars via a downloadable content pack called "Car Pack" which will set you back 1800 MS Points. Once you have downloaded the cars via the “Car Pack”, you then have to fork out an additional 1200 MS Points to download the “Petrol Pack” which get's the cars moving, without it your cars are just eye candy. That's Active Vision for you.

you are all entitled to your opinion but at the end of the day NASCAR is the most competitive form of motor racing the stats dont lie, it has the most lead changes, passes, crashes and beating and banging in the world which is exciting. I am english and live in the uk and if you like watching single file boring parade racing like what formula one is then thats up to you but i will take 3 and 4 wide racing even in the pits anyday over f1 anything like it.

Gordon it is rather easier to race 4 cars side by side on an oval than it is round Spa, Monaco, Nurburgring etc... aside from one race this season F1 has hardly been single file racing at all. Nascar has it's appeal, good crashes, but you must understand why a lot of people would find it insanely dull as a game? the tracks are arguably the most important aspect to a racing game after the general gameplay, I doubt GT5 would sell all that well if all that was available was repeated loops round the High Speed Ring.

take a left turn son

even if your stats are right, it doesn't make for a compelling game in my opinion. there's just not enough challenge technically. i think i had that nascar game with tom cruise in it, days of thunder? absolute garbage. that was probably 20 years ago mind.

The thing about NASCAR's overtaking though is that it is often too frequent, and the excitement and skill of an overtake is removed when the track is so wide and no braking/cornering tactics apply. In Formula 1, drivers need to actually outrace their rivals on track, the moves are more risky and take a higher level of skill and thus are obviously less frequent.
