I can feel JP4 news coming...
Posted by jackdelamare on Sunday, February 7 2010

Quite a few websites have had interviews with Joe Johnston regarding The Wolfman and have asked him about Captain America. Well, no reason why they wouldn't have asked about JP4 right? Maybe even just a little question. I'm thinking ShockTillYouDrop did (and they're posting their full interview in due time). When the official press conference for The Wolfman happens I'm thinking at least someone will ask. I can feel us getting some sort of news, so let's hope!

Also, frequent visitor Isla-Nublar-Crew heard Jurassic Park 4 mentioned on a Czech television documentary. They were saying that a new dinosaur species was discovered and that "Hollywood is really interested in it, and there is a possibility, that next Jurassic Park movies will be full of feathered dinosaurs". This is very interesting and I'm eager to hear more news on it.

Captain America filming in the UK!
Posted by jackdelamare on Thursday, February 4 2010

So Joe Johnston's upcoming Captain America is filming in the UK this year which means I'm going to be trying to fly up to wherever they are filming and try my best at speaking to some of the crew, both for my own personal reasons and to try to dig up some JP4 news.

If you live in the UK, I'd recommend doing the same if you live in the area. I may not be able to so it may be up to you guys to find some information from Joe himself. I'm hoping he brings JP4 up in interviews in the coming months.

Tuesday, February 9th - get yourselves to The Wolfman premiere.

Where: ArcLight Hollywood, 6360 W. Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood, CA

5:30pm is the press call time, 6:30 is when the celebrities arrive. Yes, Joe Johnston will be there, so if you live in this general area head down there, take a video camera and ask the man himself about JP4!

Thanks ;)

We Want IV!
Posted by jackdelamare on Saturday, January 30 2010

Ok so I've just seen the nicest thing ever - a 5 year old sent in his WE WANT IV video, wearing a Jurassic Park hat! Cheers buddy!

Keep your videos coming in, the campaign is still happening!

JP & TLW Coming to Blu-Ray This Year!
Posted by jackdelamare on Thursday, January 28 2010

According to Slashfilm, Jurassic Park AND The Lost World will be getting a release on Blu-Ray THIS year! Weirdly enough, JP3 hasn't been mentioned according to the original source, which means the entire trilogy won't be getting a Blu-Ray release.

However, this is fantastic news and we can only hope it's true and soon to be announced by Universal Studios.

EDIT: I didn't check out the Blu-Ray.com article and since I can only read English I missed the part that says the Netherlands Universal Studios Home Entertainment have actually listed these two films for a November 4th release.

Universal IS working on JP4, but NOT remaking it
Posted by jackdelamare on Monday, January 25 2010

Ok so it seems as if I've confused a number of you, for which I apologise. The article linked below states that JP is being rebooted (which means remade). I was confirming that it isn't being remade.

But Jurassic Park 4 is still happening. The Joe Johnston news is still true! Let's hope for some more soon :)

Universal AREN'T Rebooting Jurassic Park
Posted by jackdelamare on Saturday, January 23 2010

This article is simply elaborating on what Joe Johnston has recently said, there is no evidence and before people start getting angry it's worth me posting this so you know.

Universal are not rebooting Jurassic Park.

Posted by jackdelamare on Saturday, January 23 2010

Sorry for the downtime on the forum, you may know I've been having some issues with the site's bandwidth, but it'll all be sorted in the coming days so I have re-opened the forum.

Bring on JPIV!

JP4 & Joe Johnston news on Portuguese television!
Posted by jackdelamare on Sunday, January 17 2010

Dr. Dino at JPLegacy forums reported that the recent news of Joe Johnston talking about JP4 was mentioned on his local news programme! Fantastic, let's hope we get some more information soon!

I've also just put up a new poll that relates to the current status of JP4. Let's see how many people support the idea of a new trilogy.

Universal post the article on their Twitter
Posted by jackdelamare on Thursday, January 14 2010

Universal have posted the article about The Wolfman, Captain America and JP4 on their Twitter. This is good news in a way.

Bring on the greenlight! Thanks to everyone who sent me the articles too, today has been an entertaining day. Am I the only one who couldn't stop smiling? Man I'm getting my hopes up, let's hope it develops!

Joe Johnston talks JP4!
Posted by jackdelamare on Thursday, January 14 2010

Time to get excited guys! In a RECENT interview with Joe Johnston, he mentions Jurassic Park 4 and says about the "new trilogy" idea that he mentioned in his last interview.

It gives the impression that he will start working on it after Captain America, and I'm all for that! Here are some extracts from the interview. Guys, are we finally getting what we want?

***

The internet is freaking out that there might be a Jurassic Park IV.

Wow, when did that happen?

November-you mentioned to Ain't It Cool that there might be a good script.

Did I tell him? Was it me?

You said that there was no way to get people back on the island for a fourth time and have it make sense, but that 2001 was the last installment and we're due.

Well, there is going to be a Jurassic Park IV. And it's going to be unlike anything you've seen. It breaks away from the first three-it's essentially the beginning of the second Jurassic Park trilogy. It's going to be done in a completely different way. That's pretty much all I can tell you.

A second trilogy?

If you think of the first three as a trilogy, number four would be the beginning of a second trilogy.

Will we get 3 more films?

That's big. So not to lock you in, but there's a possibility there might be a total of six films?

Well, you never know. If they keep working-and if audiences keep going to them-there's no reason why there wouldn't be. We just want to make them justified in their own right. We don't want to make sequel after sequel just because there's a market for it. We want to tell different, interesting stories. You don't want to just sell hamburger.

Thanks to all the people who sent me an email as soon as you heard the news, really appreciate your input!

Website Round Up
Posted by jackdelamare on Monday, January 11 2010

Considering there's no JP4 news (apart from the rumours circulating of a 3D JP film) I thought I'd just make a little post about the website. Firstly, I'm probably going to have to move hosts (I really don't want to) to sort out the bandwidth issues. It's nobody's fault of course, but because of the amazing amount of hits this website now gets, my bandwidth is running out fast. It's great to see but obviously means the website will be offline whenever it's all used up. I'll find a way to sort it out though!

We await some JP4 news. When? Maybe when there's news for Indy 5 it'll be mentioned.

Michael Rogers is 16
Posted by jackdelamare on Thursday, January 7 2010

So yeah, his script won't get through to Spielberg. The news on Wikipedia was true, but it's about a 16 year old fan who wrote a script and has sent it to Universal. Good luck to him, but we all know they do not accept material from somebody not backed by an agent. It sucks because he's obviously thought his idea through.

Read about it here.

***

In other news, I just saw something on TV about Little Chris and it was showing clips from Jurassic Park. It's his favourite film and he was saying his favourite parts. Cool!

Wikipedia's Recent JP4 Edit
Posted by jackdelamare on Wednesday, January 6 2010

I've had a number of people asking me about the addition to JP4's Wikipedia page claiming a script has been sent to Spielberg as of yesterday. It's been removed because nobody could provide a source, so as far as I can work out, it's fake.

BUT, the guy who was said to have written it does have writer's credits on IMDb. Interesting...

Back to the Future on Blu-Ray!
Posted by jackdelamare on Tuesday, January 5 2010

Yes! And it comes out in June! It's great news, I've been looking forward to the release in HD for a while now.

What does it mean for Jurassic Park? Is it right around the corner?

Samuel L Jackson's death scene was meant to be filmed
Posted by jackdelamare on Friday, January 1 2010

I got February's issue of Empire magazine the other day, and found out some interesting information regarding the first Jurassic Park movie. You may remember they had a section a good few months ago about Wayne Knight (Dennis Nedry) and how they shot the Dilophosaur spit at him. Well, they've done a similar thing with Samuel L Jackson (Ray Arnold) although this time it was a quiz, and he states in it how he was meant to be filmed running from Raptors:

Now this certainly is news to me, but I do recall that whole scene was meant to be a lot longer with Ellie being chased by Raptors too.

An interesting find for 2010 anyhow, and I hope you're enjoy your hangovers and the first day of 2010.

Happy New Year!
Posted by jackdelamare on Thursday, December 31 2009

I think it's fair to say 2009 has not been a good year for Jurassic Park 4. It's been a good year for the franchise though... the new toyline, new rides, Blu-Ray news. But it's only going to get better in 2010. I hope anyway.

2010 sees the opening of Universal Studios Singapore - which has a huge section dedicated to Jurassic Park. 2010 may also see the release of our favourite film on Blu-Ray. There are rumours of a completely new toyline being released at the toy fair in February, and above that we have the release of a number of fan projects including JP: Emergence by BrachioInGen at JPLegacy, and my own Prime Survival, the fan film. There's also a lot of development with other fan projects including Virtual: Jurassic Park which is a mod for Crysis.

Let's hope 2010 brings us heap loads of Jurassic Park 4 news - everybody knows we need it!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

RUMOUR: Spielberg wants 3D Jurassic Park film
Posted by jackdelamare on Wednesday, December 30 2009

A rumour has been created by Slashfilm regarding Jurassic Park 4. Yes, it's fake, but who cares? It's a damn good one and it'll get some publicity.

"And one can only imagine what Steven Spielberg - whose reported comment that Avatar was the best film he'd ever seen has been repeated to me by no fewer than four awestruck colleagues - has planned for Jurassic Park."

Personally, I'm not incredibly fond of 3D but if JP4 was in 3D, I certainly wouldn't turn it down. It could be a fun ride. Reports indicated that Spielberg loved Avatar, so maybe he'd like his own film in the style of Avatar. People say Avatar had (or was meant to) have the same affect JP did in theatres with groundbreaking effects... well, why can't Spielberg do that again with JP4? Makes sense, right?

Just to clarify, it is a rumour and we do not know Spielberg's true feelings towards a 3D JP4... but we'd love to!

Frank Marshall dissapoints on Twitter...
Posted by jackdelamare on Tuesday, December 29 2009

A fan trailer for JP4 was sent to Frank Marshall on Twitter by ChrisCrossMedia. The question was, is this JP4? Frank Marshall unfortunately replied:

Very, VERY dissapointing. It's sad. It's not right.

Please Frank, you can make a good movie, please, make Jurassic Park 4. PLEASE.

JP4 in 2010 says Dinosaur George
Posted by jackdelamare on Tuesday, December 29 2009

You may have heard of Dinosaur George, he's a public speaker who has studied paleontology for most of his life. He posts videos on YouTube answering people's questions, and the most recent one, #61, mentions Jurassic Park 4. He says that it's coming out in 2010. Obviously that is wrong, but it's interesting to think that he knows a little bit about it. I recall someone saying he had more behind the scenes than we think, but that could just be a rumour.

Check out the clip here.

He seems like a nice guy and I plan to send him an email to see if there's any other information he may have.

Jurassic Park WAS on Sky Movies!
Posted by jackdelamare on Saturday, December 26 2009

You may remember a few weeks ago Sky TV asked me to advertise their Christmas special, where you get to vote for what movies you'd like to see on TV at Christmas time. Unfortunately Jurassic Park did not make the top 10 (or 20, not sure...) but it played yesterday on one of the Sky Movies Modern Greats! Fantastic, thanks to those that voted, and thank you Sky for playing our favourite film!

Hope you all had a good Christmas. I've purchased a little bit more bandwidth for the end of the month - let's hope it doesn't run out! Happy New Year just incase!

New Poll & Scans of Johnston Interview 2001
Posted by jackdelamare on Thursday, December 24 2009

Due to demand I am uploading the scans for the magazine article described below. These are actually photos because the scanner kept missing the edge of the writing, but you can see them perfectly. It's basically Joe Johnston saying JP3 will make people want to see JP4, but it seems like at this time Johnston and others have already discussed it. There's also a bit at the end where he says he most likely wouldn't be directing it.

You may have read some reports that some of Spielberg's films are coming to Blu-Ray. Luckily, Jurassic Park is on that list. We can only hope!

2010 - a new year, a new poll. Do you think we're going to see some JP4 news? Maybe the same repeats as this year? Will we hear anything? Leave your vote! Merry Christmas for tomorrow, and have a Happy New Year!

Bandwidth is going to go soon...
Posted by jackdelamare on Tuesday, December 22 2009

You may have seen a bandwidth note on the site before - well, another website I have hosted on here took up almost the entire bandwidth due to spam, so it filled up and everything went offline. Annoying, I know, but the hosts have been good and increased it a little bit for December. BUT, it'll probably expire again before the new year, so if I don't get a chance, see you in 2010, and let's pray for an active Jurassic Park year! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

The iPhone LIES! And VERY early JP4 [old] news...
Posted by jackdelamare on Tuesday, December 22 2009

lolI was just reading on a forum, where somebody posted a screenshot from their iPhone which says Jurassic Park 4 is coming out January 1st, 2010! Don't mark your calendars however, it's just wishing. I just thought it was quite funny.

You may remember I recently posted some articles from 2002's July issue of Starlog, where Spielberg discussed JP4. Well, I found some more information from an August 2001 Starlog magaine. While I don't remember buying it, I apparently won it and it came yesterday. It's an interview with Joe Johnston where he discusses JP3 and the work done on that film. He says that JP3 will make people want to see JP4. And it did. But where's JP4? It also said at the end of the article than Johnston probably wouldn't be directing the fourth Jurassic film, but it's interesting to know that they were thinking of it all the way back then.

'Jurassic Park' More Convincing Than 'Avatar'
Posted by jackdelamare on Monday, December 21 2009

I have read the above quote on a few websites now, and it makes me proud to be a fan.

John Nolte from 'Big Hollywood' reviewed Avatar, and in doing so, explains that the dinosaurs in the Jurassic Park trilogy are more convincing than in Avatar.

"Cameron might have used more terabytes, megabytes, spiderbytes, or whateverbytes to create the Na'vi and the paradise planet of Pandora than Steven Spielberg ever dreamed possible in 1993, but in the convincing me this is real department - in the convincing me this is not computer generated department - "Jurassic Park" blows "Avatar" away. Peter Jackson's Kong and Gollum are also light years ahead of "Avatar.""

I was dissapointed after seeing Avatar. Sure, it's a wonderful film, it looks amazing - and personally I think you forget the Na'vi ARE animated - but the story was basic and there could have been more in it. I didn't see it in 3D, so I did not see it in it's full glory, but I really like the fact that people prefer the animation in Jurassic Park than to that in Avatar.

Oh yeah, lots and lots of news...
Posted by jackdelamare on Thursday, December 17 2009

Such an active franchise right now! I hate not having anything to update this site with... Spielberg, Kennedy and Marshall are producing 'War Horse'. Should be good.

Anyone feel like digging up some JPIV news? Go on, find something news. Score an interview with Joe Johnston?

ET Fans March To Spielberg's Office!

I have a huge amount of respect for these people! What they're doing is great, even though I don't think an ET sequel should ever happen (and Spielberg doesn't either) they're doing a wonderful thing.

Now who's got my ticket to Hollywood?

Spielberg drops Harvey
Posted by jackdelamare on Friday, December 4 2009

http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=61377

I'm kinda glad as I was not sure about this project, but it means Spielberg has the time to work on Lincoln, which he's been promising for a few years. I'm hoping there's also some development with Interstellar. But do you know what's most important? Jurassic Park IV. 10 years. That's all that needs to be said. ComingSoon (legends) said:

"It it unknown what Spielberg may direct instead. You can see a list of possible projects here, but really, we would suggest Jurassic Park 4 to Spielberg!"

I concur. Come on Mr Spielberg, make us proud!

We know where Universal stand
Posted by jackdelamare on Thursday, December 3 2009

In a recent article on Variety that discussed Greengrass dropping out of Bourne 4, we find out that Universal are still hoping to get a JPIV out. This is good news.

Well, except for Universal, which is also developing a sequel to "Wanted" and would like new installments of "Jurassic Park," "The Fast and the Furious," "American Pie" and "Mamma Mia."

"No Bourne 4, so let's do JPIV" is what I hope is said. Let's pray (again, and again, and again...)

Funny Joe Johnston Emails
Posted by jackdelamare on Monday, November 30 2009

This is not new news, but this was sent to me by Jaroslav on Facebook. It's a repeat of the news we got a few weeks ago from Joe Johnston, but they've put some funny emails in there from directors that Joe might have asked for help from. It's a funny read, so check it out, and thanks Jaroslav!

We didn't win...

Anyone got any JPIV news?

New Poll (+explaination)
Posted by jackdelamare on Wednesday, November 18 2009

I've updated the poll once again, I had to cut the other one short down to the fact that it was for a piece of great news which is unfortunately, old.

If you've not kept up to date, here it is in a nutshell *cracks out the nutcracker*.

Basically, an interview was released by the head geek at AICN (who were the website who reviewed the "dinosaurs with guns" script back in 2004). The interview was believed to be new and taken this year in November, the month it was posted. However, some people began to doubt it as some of the information (that most of us passed so we could read the JP news) was old. So I twittered... tweeted? the guy who wrote it and he informed me it was indeed, OLD. "late summer 2008". Oh great, nice job. Why didn't he put the date it was taken? Why release it so late? We got excited FOR NO REASON. BECAUSE, the last piece of real news we got was from Frank Marshall in June of 2009, where he states that they do not have a story. Back to square one. Joy for us!

Magazine Scans Already?!
Posted by jackdelamare on Monday, November 16 2009

Frequent visitor 'Isla-Nublar-Crew' was nice enough to scan in some magazine articles regarding Jurassic Park IV - from the Czech Republic. He was also kind enough to translate them for us, and there's some pretty cool/interesting information here.

Magazine 1 - 2004
"2006 The legend continues: Fourth sequel, which will be directed by Breck Eisner is planned for year 2008. The secondary title for the movie is Extinction. Famous paleontologist Jack Horner is again working as a consultant as in the previous three movies. There are rumors, that this time it will be without " Tyrannosaurus, island and things of that sort". It leaves one question - what will be the story about, let's just hope, that it will venturesome movie with great special effects and ingenious main characters."

Magazine 2 - 2005
Spielberg's Citation : "I want presently return to the Indiana Jones and Jurassic Park, because I consider them "as my children"...

Spielberg - You've done Indiana Jones 4, what about your other child?

The visitor who sent them in also has some pretty awesome JPIV artwork online, so check out his gallery.

Very much appreciated Island-Nublar-Crew, thank you for sending these in. If anybody else has any, please scan them! I have one right next to me which has been up on my desk for years, the TotalFilm one from... before Indy 4... where Spielberg says something about his current projects. "Joe is his go-to-Jurassic guy"...

Spielberg's first confirmation for JPIV [2002]
Posted by jackdelamare on Monday, November 16 2009

Why can't it come true?So I wanted to grab a copy of that "June 2002" issue of Starlog where Steven Spielberg first confirms JPIV. So I purchased the June 2002 issue. It was the wrong one. A few weeks later and I have the July 2002 copy, with that interview in. I've scanned it all in for you to have a read - it's worth it.

If you recall, this was the first bit of confirmation for JPIV we got, way back in 2002. We had news in 2001 but it was stuff like "Amblin are brainstorming for a story". This was the first official bit of news from the legend himself. What sucks is that it never developed. I mean, yeah they've had (that I know of) 2 stories, but do we have a film? No.

If you have any magazine scans about JPIV send them my way! I'm thinking about setting up a timeline from 2001 to present. What a lol it'll be!

Get your depression face ready!
Posted by jackdelamare on Saturday, November 14 2009

So that Joe Johnston interview on AICN about The Wolfman, where he mentions there's a new JPIV story and he wants to do it... Well, it's old. I asked the guy who wrote it, and he told me "late summer 2008".

SUCKS TO BE A JP FAN RIGHT NOW!

Thanks, producers.

JPIV Domains
Posted by jackdelamare on Friday, November 13 2009

It seems Universal never registered www.jurassicparkiv.co.uk (or have let it go like the .com) so I thought I might as well take it. I've just made it the linking website to all the JPIV websites I actually run, lol.

And while on the subject of other websites, I now am a news reporter for the website, BehindTheFilms.net. You'll notice I posted the Joe Johnston story on there, and have posted a few since then. Keep your eyes on the site!

The Dinosaurs of John Sayles & William Monahan's JPIV script
Posted by jackdelamare on Monday, November 9 2009

RexBoy?We all wanted to know more about the 2003/4 script written by William Monahan and polished by John Sayles. Well, you're about to. If you haven't already clicked on the thumbnail, do so now. Yep, that was one of the dinosaurs that Nick Harris trained in that script. Wow. Wtf? Are you happy they didn't make the film with that script? I am...

No disrespect to the artist, Carlos Huante - whom I have been in contact with - who is not a bad artist at all. Infact, he's fantastic. It's just this, this would not make a good JP film. He told me that these were done 7 years ago, and that the heads at Amblin rejected them. So, that was it, that script was out of the window. I think it's safe to say the current 'story' is NOT dinosaurs being trained by the military. At least I hope not.

TrikeBoy? RaptorMan?

I thought it was worth you seeing these images. Let's be honest, it would have ruined Jurassic Park. It just, wouldn't have worked. It looks as if Cloverfield was inspired by these beasts. But what can I get from this post? More insight into what this "great story" is. It's not anything we've read about before - it takes place off of the islands. I cannot wait to hear what it includes.

The JP forums have been very active, people trying to think what the story could be. Someone compared the current news to that of Terminator: Salvation, in that the fourth film in both will/would pretty much make a new trilogy in itself. Oh and this kinda proves that Universal have the rights to 6 JP films, doesn't it? I haven't seen the entire Terminator franchise, so I've no idea if this is a good or bad move. Was Salvation any good? The fact that they're selling it off tells me otherwise, but I hope this new JPIV trilogy idea is a good one. By all means, discuss what you think in the forum - it's going to be a fun ride IF this is the beginning of JPIV. Come on Universal, switch that light to green!

JOE JOHNSTON TALKS JURASSIC PARK 4!
Posted by jackdelamare on Saturday, November 7 2009

Ain't It Cool News got a chance to talk to The Wolfman director Joe Johnston and the interview briefly turned to the possibility of a Jurassic Park 4. Johnston directed the third film in the franchise, which was released in 2001.

"There is a great story for the fourth one that I would be interested in getting involved with and it's nothing like the first three," Johnston told the site, "It sort of takes the franchise off in a completely different direction, which is the only way I would want to get involved."

He added that it likely won't be another storyline about a group of people struggling to survive a dinosaur attack. "We've done that and it's been done three times..."

The site commented that they should stay away from an island setting this time. "Why would anybody go back to that island?" Johnston said. "It was hard enough to figure out the second and third reason for them to go, but it would take it off in a whole other trilogy basically, but when it gets to that level it's sort of about studios and Steven [Spielberg's] thing and who knows. I think we are at that point where we are due for another one if we are going to do it."

Universal Pictures has not targeted a release date for a fourth film.

Source: AICN, ComingSoon

OH MY GOD! WE HAVE NEWS, POSITIVE NEWS. Sorry for the caps, can you tell I'm excited? Joe Johnston is a good guy and the section I have underlined is what makes me excited. The last bit of news we received is that they don't have a story, and now they apparently do. Do you think all the stuff we've been doing has worked? Have I spoken to the producers? I certainly hope this develops, and you know you can catch all the latest news here - and if you hear anything else, send it!.

ComingSoon have since put up a poll asking whether or not Universal should go ahead with it. What're you waiting for? VOTE YES!

Thanks to Greg, Declan and Doni for emailing me about this. Could this be the start of our dreams coming true?

Want to play JP on PS3?
Posted by jackdelamare on Friday, October 30 2009

Well this is as close as you're going to get for now. A new game from Activision is set to be released this November, on the third. It was a mysterious title - being announced on 16th October this year - and now we know enough about it to decide whether or not to purchase this hidden title. I know I will be, it's close to Jurassic Park, even if it's not a JP game.

The animations may be a little jerky and it might not be Isla Sorna, but it really does look great. The story is basically about a team who have been researching an island in the Bermuda Triangle and are suddenly pulled back in time on the island facing himself against these dinosaurs. It should be a fun ride, so be sure to pick it up!

The game is also available on XBox 360 and the Playstation 2, but I'll be playing on the Playstation 3 - so join me!

Universal Pictures need a number 1 in the charts
Posted by jackdelamare on Monday, October 26 2009

Doni JP pointed this out to me, Universal have just released their movie "Cirque Du Freak" which is at number 8 in the box office this weekend. I remember reading the books so I'm looking forward to seeing this movie. However, it's only at number 8. No doubt it'll climb but Universal need to release a number 1, like Zombieland was. Can we expect something like this from Universal soon? I hope 2010 will be a good year for releases and announcements for movies.

Also, sorry about that Cameron thing, I did think it was James Cameron's actual Twitter.

James Cameron's Twitter is fake

Apparently anyway. I actually found it while checking out Frank Marshall's - so does Frank know he's not actually talking to Mr Cameron?

Has he changed since July?

James Cameron speaks about JPIV
Posted by jackdelamare on Saturday, October 24 2009

James Cameron is great isn't he? And he originally wanted to direct JP. So I sent him this on Twitter:

@his-twitter I noticed that you had wanted to direct Jurassic Park. How about the sequel, JPIV? I'm sure you could do something incredible.

And got this reply:

@jackdelamare Who needs Jurassic Park IV when AVATAR has dinosaurs in it? My awesome dinosaurs make this JP4 redundant.

I know he is promoting his film - fair enough, it's going to be a fun adventure - but I'd like to really know what he thinks about JPIV... if this is not it. Hopefully I'll get another reply. I really thank him for replying.

JPIV was closer than we thought
Posted by jackdelamare on Friday, October 23 2009

You may (and should) remember the recent release of Hasbro's new Jurassic Park repaint line - with the re-tooled Bull T-Rex. Well, it seems Hasbro haven't stopped there and are planning a 2010 release of completely new sculpts. It's been proven there's a huge market for JP still (staff unable to keep the shelves stocked up) and they have taken this into consideration.

The most interesting thing about the new new line, is that... wait for it...

It's what was meant to be the Jurassic Park IV toys.

That is correct, this new line set to be released at the toy fair in February is the sculpts that were going to be for JPIV. We were closer to the Laura Dern script than we thought. Why did they stop it? Because of Michael Crichton's unfortunate death? I think there is more to it than that.

BUT, this gives us the chance to see what dinosaurs were going to be in JPIV, and what the idea of the movie was. I'm hoping there are human figures included too, so we can see who they had planned to cast.

If you have anymore information on this line please send it to me, and let's hope the sales of the new line start to show the producers the amount of demand JP has.

New Poll
Posted by jackdelamare on Thursday, September 24 2009

Almost 500 votes on the previous poll, so it's time to start another one. What kind of film would you like JPIV to be? I also added in the option suggested by 'TRACKING_SP' on the last poll, about whether or not it should be a remake. Personally, I don't think it should be but each to his own! So would you like it to be set after the events in JP3? Or maybe set before one of the three films? How about both - a sequel with some questions answered in prequel sections? Or would you like Spielberg's classic to be remade. Vote now!

I found some Blu-Ray information in the code source of TLW's page on the new website. Go onto The Lost World's page and view the code source. Then search for "Blu-Ray" and there will be some about Battlestar, and then a little bit which isn't actually displayed on the page. Could this be for JP on Blu-Ray?

Also for the past few days the website has been down. I'm very sorry about this, my hosts were transfering us to a new server and it took longer than expected and there were some problems but don't worry, it seems to be working ok now.

hotOh yes that is correct, Paul from Raptor Patrol sent in some more images of his customised jeep. This fan really shows his true love for the franchise, I really like seeing these pictures. You can check out the rest of his images at various links in this sentance.

There are numerous people in the community showing how much they love this franchise and right now is the perfect opportunity to do so. Tell the producers and the studio exactly how much you love Jurassic Park and how much you would like to see a fourth movie get made to answer so many questions that we have.

You should also check out BrachioInGen's new trailer for his upcoming story into the franchise, JP: Emergence. It's fantastic, is all I can say.

Frank Marshall denies production rumour
Posted by jackdelamare on Saturday, September 12 2009

So I sent a reply message thing to producer Frank Marshall on Twitter.

@LeDoctor are you aware that Universal Studios tour guides are saying JPIV is in pre-production? Are they telling the truth or wishing?

He sent this back (and it's the only time he's responded):

@jackdelamare Wishing...

Dissapointing, but I really would like to thank him for actually responding.

JPIV in Production says Universal tour guide
Posted by jackdelamare on Saturday, September 12 2009

Member 'Hook' on JPLegacy posted an interesting piece of information this morning.

I just returned from my trip to Universal Studios Hollywood where my girlfriend and I rode the studio tour ride through the different movie sets. As we approached the Jurassic Park area (which is very lame and features only a few props along with some dilophosaurus who spit water at you) Our tour guide claimed that Universal was indeed in the pre-production stages for the 4th movie. Now take this news as you may, he is just simply a tour guide for a ride and i have no idea where he would get such information, but any news is good news. So fingers crossed that he wasnt just blowing smoke in our direction and that there is some sort of truth to his claim.

We shouldn't get excited by this, but one can't help but be interested in the reliability of this. I know they've been saying JPIV is "roaring into production" for the past year or so, but you'd think by now they'd be up to date as to whether it actually was happening or not.

Let's think about this logically... and get some people into the studio to investigate. Who's offering?

First video submission!

David wants IV, and I think you do too!David Muller is the first dude to submit his video campaign for We Want IV! His video is fantastic, exactly what is needed. It will fit perfectly for this, but currently is sitting on it's own. Guys, get your videos in! Don't be camera shy! I'm camera shy, and I still manage to film update videos for my movie! Just turn that camera on and start chanting, you know you want IV. Let's make it happen! This is the way we'll attract the producers and studios attention. The more people in the video chanting out campaign, the more it'll speak to them.

Jurassic Park vs. Jurassic Park 3
Posted by jackdelamare on Monday, September 7 2009

Just read this article which frequent viewer Bobby forwarded to me. It's basically discussing how JP3 was rushed. It's interesting. You're probably asking yourself, why're you posting this? Well, because we never got any closure to the franchise... the third film was just people getting stuck on the island, no questions were answered. They need to answer these questions in JPIV.

Many 80s/90s franchises are now getting another sequel/prequel, even if the last film in that franchise was not the best. Why do we get left out? Indy 5? We've JUST had Indy 4, why can't Spielberg stick to what he said in that video a while back. "Jurassic Park IV will happen, someday."

Thanks Producers, Laura Dern working on other projects...
Posted by jackdelamare on Friday, September 4 2009

Thanks to Sarah for sending me this bit of news.

"Laura Dern and screenwriter Mike White are teaming up to create a comedy pilot for HBO.

The project, tentatively titled Enlightened, will star Dern as a self-destructive woman whose spiritual awakening leads her to try to lead an enlightened life, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Dern (Jurassic Park) recently won a Golden Globe for her role in the HBO film Recount.

Production is scheduled to begin in December."

Source: TVGuide

It's great she's working on this, but it annoys me as she was really excited for the fourth JP film, and now it appears that she's busy and will be for the next few months. She was the last person to give us some solid news on the project and it now seems as if it's not happening anytime soon.

Also, Richard Attenborough is, I believe, recovering from a fall in hospital. I sincerely hope the producers begin to work on the fourth Jurassic as Richard Attenborough said he would love to do it. Isn't that ANOTHER clear sign it should be made?

New Poll

JPIV Jeep Spotted?
Posted by jackdelamare on Monday, August 31 2009

One Awesome RideNo no no, I'm kidding, but wouldn't that be awesome? These photos were sent in by Paul Corcoran, who made me aware of his own customised Jurassic Park jeep. By night Paul works as the Raptor Patrol, keeping the streets safe from... you guessed it, Raptors! I think this Land Rover is great, expecially the neons. A new study has shown that neons were a deterrent for Raptors, so Paul is being safe here. Seriously though, great job Paul!

If anybody else has any jeeps like this, send in your pictures! Or equally post them on the forum, I know we'd love to see them.

And the title of this gave me an idea. Whoever makes a JPIV "We Want IV" supporting jeep wins... a cookie. Or something similar. I'd drive it though. Maybe we should do a Marc Ecko and tag the producer's cars with We Want IV logos? This is something to keep in mind...

In other news, ComingSoon.net has launched a new feature supported by CraveOnline, which shows the top previews for films. And guess which film is number 1? Jurassic Park IV, correct. Doesn't this tell everybody something? We Want IV, please.

Hasbro Announces New Jurassic Park Toy Line
Posted by jackdelamare on Tuesday, August 25 2009

"Hasbro, Inc. has announced plans to unleash the legendary dinosaurs from Universal Pictures' "Jurassic Park." This fall, under a licensing agreement with Universal Partnerships & Licensing, Hasbro plans to launch a new action figure line based on the film's prehistoric predators exclusively at Toys"R"Us stores across the country."

The community has known about this line for months, but finally Hasbro have officially announced it! If you haven't seen the line, take a look, as they are fantastic. The packaging is incredible, and the repaints are pretty fine. The electronic Rex is also HUGE, so check it out.

Be sure to pick some of these up; this may help reboot the franchise. I can feel it already.

Also thanks to the person who emailed this to me! I get quite a few news articles sent to me before I find them for myself, and I really appreciate you guys taking the time to do so. Thank you!

JP FINALLY Coming To Blu-Ray
Posted by jackdelamare on Thursday, August 20 2009

Finally some news about JP on Blu-Ray, and this time it comes from someone inside Universal.

Universal are releasing the Back to the Future trilogy and the Jurassic Park trilogy on Blu-Ray sometime in October/November 2010. This is excellent, we finally get our favourite films in HD! It's the perfect reason to get yourself a PS3/Blu-Ray player too. Hopefully it'll be packed with bonus features and a JPIV teaser. Hey, it could still happen. Remember the JP/TLW DVDs? All they need is JPIV to start... now.

2000-2002 News
Posted by jackdelamare on Tuesday, August 11 2009

So I got out my old Jurassic Park folder I had made when I was young, probably around the time of JP3's release. I had a section for each film, and of course, the fourth. It was full of my printouts of news articles stating about the fourth film.

What's most notable, is the fact that Spielberg said on numerous reports that he had "the mother of all ideas" and that it'd "take JP to whole new level". I want him to go back to this frame of mind, because currently, he's forgotten JP. Everybody was excited about it, and it seemed as if they had got it right. There were meetings about Nublar returning and that they want to imagine that JP3 was a dream. They had got it right! I just... I want it to be like that again, because Spielberg was so excited to be making it. We actually had some hope.

And then in 2004, came the script review on AICN. I'm debating whether this is exactly what Spielberg's idea was. I know Spielberg said, after this review, that because of it they were re-writing, but I'm sure there would have been a few other scripts for the movie, not just that one script. I mean, ideas at least. It seemed that from this point on his interest was lost, so really we can only thank AICN. We can thank them from two points of views. One being, thanks for stopping production of JPIV, and the other, thanks for stopping production of a horrible sequel idea.

JPIV isn't likely right now. It's a gunshot to the heart, but Spielberg isn't interested in making it. Maybe once he's finished TinTin, Harvey and Indy 5?

So I Phoned Amblin
Posted by jackdelamare on Monday, August 10 2009

And there are no plans for Jurassic Park IV as of yet. Not a surprise, and she said there is "no upcoming Jurassic Park IV" and that "people have been calling about this for years" and there is no production of it going and there are no plans that she knows of. So they haven't got anybody writing it and they're not even trying. Nice job.

I asked about speaking to Frank Marshall and the friendly woman said I could try him at his company. I might just do that.

Dry dry dry...

General Website Update
Posted by jackdelamare on Monday, July 27 2009

lulz

I wish! Anyway, that poll had interesting results. While many of you were honest, some were not. There are 76 people claiming to have purchased an item. There has only been 2 sales. So you know, be truthful on the next one, ha ha.

Anyway, in spite of this - and because of how long the poll has been up - I'll be changing it. So enjoy a poll about the movie itself.

Frank Marshall's New Film
Posted by jackdelamare on Tuesday, July 21 2009

lulzThat's right, Frank Marshall's new film involves himself in his struggle to actually put the fourth Jurassic Park movie into production. We follow him as he attempts to say yes to a script and then quickly turns back on his statement. The fourth movie is in his hands; watch the laughs of production of what could be one of the greatest films ever made.

In all seriousness though, it really does seem like some sort of comedy film, watching the production of JPIV. It's a rollercoaster ride - "it's happening, no wait it's not, well we're getting it together, oh wait no we're not, well actually we are..." etc.

Indy 5 arrives on IMDb
Posted by jackdelamare on Monday, July 13 2009

But no Jurassic Park IV. Perhaps when Spielberg says something about it?

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1462764/

Why do they need a story?
Posted by jackdelamare on Friday, July 3 2009

The recent news led us to believe that they didn't have a story for the fourth film. I wonder why. It's been 8 years, something good must have come up, and just in 2007 Laura Dern confirmed she was going to be in the film and it was happening soon. Actors don't get called unless the movie has a script. They had a script, Laura Dern was happy with it... what went wrong? I can think of three options:

1) It wasn't that great and they, once again, threw it away.
2) Laura Dern didn't know the story, they just told her she may be in it if their story unfolds and she got excited.
3) They're hiding it from us - they do have a story.

I can't think of any other reasons. I hope it's number 3, but it's more than likely that they discarded of it. I want to read all the scripts they've had, mostly the Laura Dern one. What do you think?

Round Up Thus Far
Posted by jackdelamare on Wednesday, June 24 2009

So once again it's been pretty slow after Frank Marshall said the news. Infact we've had nothing. So there was nothing for 6 months after they said "maybe" to it, and now most likely another 6 months - a few years before we get anything else. We've learnt how to wait... but to be honest it's been too long.

Anyhow, you may be hearing different things about what Frank Marshall said. Some websites are portraying the incident wrong and leading readers to believe that JPIV will never happen, which is not the case. Firstly, when asked if LotL ruined the chances of JPIV, he said "no" and then he was so sure about it, he said "no" again. Then he doubled himself on the story front. They don't have a story. They need a story. Is that a call out to writers? Probably not, but maybe they should put people in the writing seat?

Secondly, io9 spoke to him in private (thanks guys!), while others' didn't get the chance to. He told them that it was as it always was in recent years, a back burner project. He then said "AT THIS POINT, you could call it a long shot", as in, right now, while Marshall and Kennedy are busy with other things, expecially the whole Indy 5 thing (boo).

While there isn't much else to say from that, it's apparent that JPIV is still on the table, but is very much under a heap load of other projects. Our favourite franchise has once again been treated badly.

However, an interested theory is that Universal are trying to spark interest in the Jurassic Park franchise. We've got a new toyline coming from Hasbro, completely out of the blue, which seems to be pushing the human figures - from the movies. Alan Grant and Billy Brennan are so far having figures. There's been a big DVD game released with new animation, there's been a trilogy DVD release in the UK, and the original tape masters of Jurassic Park are being shown in a cinema in Florida. It seems to me and many other fans that interested is being shown by Universal which could mean some good news on the horizon.

We'll just have to wait and see. Even though we've waiting long enough...

One more thing, I keep getting emails from people who think this is an official JPIV website. While I'm greatful you think that, it's not, and there's currently no way you could get these emails to the people who run the franchise. Trust me, we've tried.

JPIV a 'Long Shot', but it's still there
Posted by jackdelamare on Wednesday, June 17 2009

Do you think Land of The Lost hurt the chances of Jurassic Park coming back?

No, no. I think Land of the Lost is a comedy. I just think, I have to see if they can come up with a story, we don't have a story yet.

"Later in private, we pestered Marshall some more about the possibility of another Jurassic. He looked us kindly in our big optimistic eyes and said it was more of a "back burner project." Clearly, our hopeful look hadn't changed, because the Producer leaned over sadly, and said, "At this point, you could call it a long shot." No matter, we take this as a call out to you dear readers: write Frank Marshall the best dino-story ever. You deserve a better class of dinosaur."

Source: http://io9.com/5293165/jurassic-park-4-a-long-shot-but-neverending-storys-coming

So it's possible! Even though it's still on the back burner, this movie could still happen, and the man who said it might not happen has proven himself otherwise. It's possible guys. It is possible.

I'd like to thank Brett for sending me this news, and I think we should do what they say. Everybody get writing to Frank!

A new Indiana Jones, yet not a Jurassic Park?! Come on! We've been deprived of this film for 8 years, Indy fans have just got their fourth film, I think it's time for ours!

Come on!

16 years ago today...
Posted by jackdelamare on Thursday, June 11 2009

...our favourite movie was released. That's right, on the 11th June 1993, one of the greatest movies of all time was released to the public. After 16 years you may think that the amazement that shocked our eyes would have died down, but truthfully this movie still shocks audiences and boasts the greatest computer animated, and live action, dinosaurs ever created.

We can still celebrate by watching the trilogy and creating artwork, but what would top this celebration off would be the annoucement of a new movie to reboot the franchise. To help this tradition, pick yourself up some We Want IV merchandise to show how much you love the franchise.

Something that is interesting is that this exact domain was registered last year on this exact day - the 11th June. And if you check the Cast and Crew page, where it says Director, I have added a page with the possible directors on it. Check it out!

Would You Buy Merchandise?
Posted by jackdelamare on Saturday, May 16 2009

If I was to put up a little store with "We Want IV" style merchandise, shirts, caps and stuff, would you be interested? I think it'd be a great way to promote the fourth movie, or promote us wanting the fourth movie. We could get them around everywhere.

If they do start selling well, I might even do a few competitions for people to win them.

Let me know either by email or by the forum if you'd buy them, remember, the more people who say they will, the stronger chance there is of a store actually going up.

Thanks!

Jurassic Park Blu-Ray NEWS!
Posted by jackdelamare on Sunday, May 10 2009

Despite his unquestioned status as one of the most important filmmakers alive and active, only one of Steven Spielberg's catalog films has find its way to Blu-ray so far. This may change later this year with the release of 'A.I. Artificial Intelligence' and 'Minority Report', with 'Jurassic Park' reportedly also being prepared.

'A.I.' will be released in Germany and Spain next July. Cover pictures and audio specs have been released: it will have a Dolby TrueHD track in English and Dolby Digital tracks for English and several other languages. No bonus features have been detailed. The studio responsible for this release is Warner, which holds the rights for 'A.I.' in several European countries.

In turn, retailers in Denmark have received information from the distributor of Fox content that 'Minority Report' is among the titles from the studio that will be released on Blu-ray this year.

Finally, Australian movie magazine Film Ink recently featured an interview with Steven Spielberg which centered mainly around 'Transformers 2' and 'Tintin'. However, he was also asked about Blu-ray releases of his films. Spielberg confirmed that 'A.I.' was next, and stated that he would like to do something "special" with 'Jurassic Park'. No specifics were given of when this movie would be released, or if would include its sequel 'The Lost World: Jurassic Park'.

Note that, except for the one title officially announced, all the information above is very fluid and subject to change. Also, as different studios handle these titles in different countries, they might not be released everywhere at the same time. However, it bodes well for all Spielberg fans.

Two Amblin's?
Posted by jackdelamare on Friday, April 24 2009

I just called Amblin again, and was quite shocked at what this woman said. She was ok about it all, but I had to explain what I'd sent again and she kept saying that because it wasn't addressed to a certain person, just Amblin, that they might not read it. This is completely NOT what the previous woman said, and when I mentioned this, this receptionist said she's the only receptionist there. So what the heck's going on?

Anyway, I re-explained what it was and she said in a month or two I'll know my response, whether they just send it back to me or if they actually read it, but I guess chances are now slim; since it appears I was lied to. I have some other tricks up my sleeve though.

I asked about JPIV, she said nothing was happening on that right now, so she couldn't tell me anything, she could only tell me about current productions. And then she said "i've given you more than enough time" and hung up. Rude. I preferred the previous woman I spoke to. I got to thank her.

Where The Package Is
Posted by jackdelamare on Wednesday, April 22 2009

I've been having trouble tracking it, because - even though I PAID FULL PRICE for FULL tracking - that's not what I have got. Apparently, I only have tracking throughout the UK, but I paid for the FULL tracking. But whatever, they couldn't do much about it, even though I'd over spent to them.

Anyway, using an American postal site I was able to track the package fully, or so it seems and I can tell you it's in the US!
- Inbound International Arrival, April 18, 2009, 5:03 pm, ISC NEW YORK NY(USPS)
- Origin Post is Preparing Shipment

So I assume it's heading to the big CA. At least I'll be told when it's been signed for and arrived at it's destination. Then we can start hoping.

Oh and by the way, don't EVER call the RoyalMail for help. Or use them, just don't.

The Letter Has Been Sent!
Posted by jackdelamare on Tuesday, April 14 2009

I just got back from posting the package, all the way to Amblin's offices in California. It cost me 38.47 (GBP) for complete tracking and "signed for" delivery. I don't mind however, as it's totally worth it.

All we can do now is hope they take note from it. Please Amblin, please.

Anybody Catch JP3 Last Night?
Posted by jackdelamare on Tuesday, April 14 2009

On ITV1 (UK Channel), I certainly did. And I was so excited when the voiceover said "we're back on that island again... it's Jurassic Park 3". And then the whole Universal introduction thing... what a great film. I mean seriously, we treat it as if it sucked, but it really didn't. Granted, it's not as good as the first or second but it is good, and they had such issues with the script on set that it was inevitable to end up with a story like that...

Anyway my point is I just can't wait for JP4 to be shown on TV like that. Or for when we all see it for the first time. I think I'll just freak out.

The Letter is READY!
Posted by jackdelamare on Thursday, April 9 2009

As I sit here, right beside me, covering my floor, is everything I'm going to send to Amblin Entertainment. I have spent this whole evening printing fan scripts, logos, ideas, photographs and other stuff off, and have emptied the ink on both the printers. But hey, it's all worth it!

It's Good Friday tomorrow so I cannot pickup the plastic sleevs I so desperately need, but on Saturday I'll have them picked up for me and perhaps on Sunday I will put the final thing together, and then send it on the Monday. I'm getting tracking on this parcel! I've written out who wrote what so if you submitted something worthy your full name (which I would have asked you for) is down along with your nickname or what your story was about.

Well, I can't wait until this letter get's sent off!

Watching the making of...
Posted by jackdelamare on Thursday, April 9 2009

I just watched The Lost World (due to watching JP a few weeks ago) and also watched the Making Of. Whenever I watch those films I feel happy and they truly are incredible.

It got me thinking; why haven't they began production on JPIV, when they had so much fun working on the other sequels? I mean really, they loved it. If I could sit the production crew down in a room and show them the Making Of film they'd all want to make another Jurassic Park film. It shows they can do so much more with a sequel, just like in The Lost World, and with a good team behind them they can easily create an even greater effect than the previous films have had.

Oh well, I thought I'd just share this with you.

Two More Michael Crichton Books To Sell
Posted by jackdelamare on Tuesday, April 7 2009

Variety says that Hollywood has two new Michael Crichton projects to bid on.

HarperCollins is readying for publication two new novels written by the late author, who was behind the hit Jurassic Park films and "ER."

The action adventure "Pirate Latitudes," set in Jamaica in 1665, hits store shelves Nov. 24, while a yet-to-be-titled technological thriller will bow late next year.

Source - http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=54292

Now, I believe that Michael Crichton once said that he was writing a book in the JP style. Whether or not that means it's actually Jurassic Park or not, we'll have to wait and see, but it does seem interesting. I'm awaiting the announcement for his second book. It could be JP related, it just could be.

Top Previews on ComingSoon!
Posted by jackdelamare on Monday, April 6 2009

Doesn't this tell you something? Jurassic Park IV is wanted so bad. Why can't we get it? Universal need to start thinking. If this film is constantly in the top previews list then it proves that everybody wants to see a fourth adventure in the Jurassic Park world.

Oh and the news that we heard in December 2008 is now not displayed on the ComingSoon page for JPIV... interesting?

I think we can safely say that ComingSoon and it's members would back us in the fight to get Jurassic Park IV into production.

My Letter WILL Be Read
Posted by jackdelamare on Tuesday, March 31 2009

Just got off the phone with someone at the Dreamworks offices, and she assured me that the letter would be read, and that I had the right address, and that they also may contacted me back if they're interested. Unfortunately I could not be put through to anyone in the production offices unless I have a name, and she said no to Steven Spielberg, unfortunately.

I recorded it too for safe keeping. But I cannot put it online.

Sorry for the recent downtime, the theme was acting up and most probably gave you an error message. However it is solved now.

And I've just been trying to contact Amblin, and have been directed to a few other numbers... I was calling early too, only 8:09am there and it's 4:09pm here. Their officed open at 8:30 apparently, so calling soon.

Amblin it is!
Posted by jackdelamare on Sunday, March 29 2009

Got an email from John who's making the JP mod for Crysis. He was responding to my Amblin or Universal question. He summed up the good reasons for sending it to Amblin, so Amblin it is!

Thanks John, and others who pointed it out too.

*sigh* don't you just want some JPIV news right about now?

Amblin or Universal?
Posted by jackdelamare on Saturday, March 28 2009

Should I send the letter + all the fan scripts and other data to Universal Studios or Amblin Entertainment? I'm a bit stuck, as I can really only send one letter with all those attachments which make it effective. Universal might not even consider reading it but I have no idea about Amblin. Help!

In other news Jurassic Park 4 is 3rd place in Top Previews on ComingSoon.net. This should mean something Universal!

Don't Get Excited
Posted by jackdelamare on Thursday, March 26 2009

And after that, it was a hoax. A good hoax I must add, but still a hoax. After I re-contacted "Morgan" as he's now known, he explained what he had done and why he had done it. And he did it for a very good reason; to reignite the JP franchise.

Let's be honest, we all had our hopes up again right? And they were crushed... but not so much because we all doubted if it was real or not from the start.

Morgan has written up some information about his story which I am going to include in the Universal letter as it is a good story. This is his idea for Jurassic Park 4 which I can see working, and we were right about Africa/desert. Personally I think it's a good idea, however I would still like to see Nublar, Dodgson and Hammond again. Check out the full poster for his idea here.

So where are we now? We're at a crossroads. We can either accept it's "not going to happen" and run away like cowards... or we can fight for what we would like. The petition has reached 1000 signatures meaning I am working on the letter this evening. I will attach Morgan's idea and also TheHoyt's Jurassic Park IV script and any others that people would like in there. I will explain why I have attached them, not just so that can be JP4, but so that they can take the FANS ideas and use them in what will be a hit movie. I'll be including the petition also.

I just hope they actually read it, as it's going to take a lot of printing.

Keep signing that petition, the more the better! And if you would like to get in contact with me regarding the letter and if you have any ideas that could go in it please do not hesistate to contact me. Add me on IM, too.

Thanks for watching.

Petition Reaches 1000!
Posted by jackdelamare on Wednesday, March 25 2009

Almost overnight, well over a few nights, the petition has reached 1000 signatures! Oh I thank everybody who has signed, this certainly is great news. Sayid, congratulations for being the 1000th signature!

So what next? Well I prepare that letter! This is perfect timing considering the poster, and as for it, there's no news as of yet. I'll update you on the petition tomorrow, thanks again guys!

Concept Art from ILM!
Posted by jackdelamare on Tuesday, March 24 2009

I got home today, checked my email, and low and behold I get an email from Joe Duncan with an attached image. Now, Joe's friend Paul works at ILM and sent the image to him, which is apparently concept art (old or new) for Jurassic Park IV.

I'm officially excited, even though it could be nothing important. The reason I think it could be recent is because we've never before heard the name "Dark Continent" for Jurassic Park IV, or known anything about it. The good news is the Rex is back (they're listening to the fans huh?) and it appears to have some originality. Another reason I think it is new is because the date is Summer 2011. They could be working on this now, film in 2010 and release in 2011. Who wouldn't want that?!

If it's real, it appears they've planned it through and maybe acquired the "Extinction" idea or just the idea of being on the mainland... in the desert?

Before I go on, check out the image for yourself, you WILL be amazed and excited. Let's hope for more from Joe! Thanks buddy!

Results
Posted by jackdelamare on Monday, March 23 2009

Thanks to ComingSoon.net, I was able to gain the FINAL results to the poll, and they are as follows:

Yes! - 6554
No! - 2811
I Don't Care - 2210

See what that shows? 6554 people who want Jurassic Park 4. Incredible. Even the "No!" and "I Don't Care" don't make up that amount. So, to those 6554 people, sign the petition!

Thanks to all who voted. That reminds me, I need to update our poll...

POLL! VOTE! NOW! AMBLIN!

Get there and vote on that damn poll! 'Should Amblin Entertainment make "Jurassic Park 4"?'

The answer is simple. YES! Vote now, vote vote vote!

Fan Scripts
Posted by jackdelamare on Sunday, March 15 2009

When the petition is complete (1000 signatures - keep signing!) I will be sending it, along with a huge letter to Universal Studios. But that's not all I'll be sending. I will also be including fan scripts which are worthy enough to be the actual film, or have parts from them in the final film.

I think it's a good idea to give them some inspiration and anybody can submit a script to Universal at anytime.

So, get onto the forum; submit your scripts and when a few people have read them and think they are good enough, I'll note them down for sending. I'm currently reading "TheHoyt's" script, which looks very promising.

Nothing - and an site update
Posted by jackdelamare on Wednesday, March 11 2009

No news on JP4 as per usual, although I'm hoping for something at least in the next few months. "We have a script in the works" or something along those lines.

Anyhow, I've just updated the site a little bit, added a community side bar thing (scroll down) and changed the Special page. Not much else to add for now, evidently.

In time, though, in time.

The Current Status
Posted by jackdelamare on Sunday, March 8 2009

So the producers don't want to do it but the studio do. Sounds like Indy IV, doesn't it? At the moment, it sounds like we're not going to get a fourth film for another few years minimum, which is quite appauling to be honest.
I don't want to wait longer, expecially as long as 10 years or so. Look at the gap between the third Indiana Jones film and the fourth; way too long.
Once we have 1000 signatures on the petition, I'll send it, along with a huge letter explaining how much we would like the fourth film and I'll include a heap load of ideas and such. Even though people will say "it won't help with anything", at least it'll show them that we want the film. It's proving a point.

Indy V after JPIV - wait, what?
Posted by jackdelamare on Sunday, March 1 2009

Word on the rue is that the fifth Indiana Jones film will happen AFTER the long-awaited fourth Jurassic Park film. The translation reads:

"Spielberg and Lucas, through Lucasfilm, have announced that they will soon be working on the script of Indiana Jones 5, when Jurassic Park 4 is finished."

Personally I think they're just writing what they think will happen, as Jurassic Park IV is supposed to be the next film from Universal and Spielberg himself.

We'll just have to wait and see.

*cough* hurry up *cough*

A Theory
Posted by jackdelamare on Thursday, February 19 2009

If Universal Studios still want to continue with Jurassic Park IV, why did Kennedy say that they didn't? Maybe, just maybe, they were so close to actually making the film that they had to quickly say "no, we're not going to work on it right now" (ie: we're going to stop what we have now).
I just thought that they could have been right there to make it in 2009 and then just thought they had to stop for now because of Michael Crichton's death. Just a theory... that actually sounded better in my head.

I am so impatient
Posted by jackdelamare on Tuesday, February 17 2009

Every single day I'm thinking about the fourth film of the franchise. For some reason I have this urge to Google and YouTube the words "Jurassic, Park, 4, IV" all the time just to check for something new. I'm quite sure I've seen most JPIV "videos" on the internet.
I just thought I should write this up, to still claim how annoyed I am that there's nothing happening *yet* with a fourth film. I just feel like we've been cheated all these years. I mean, they brought out Indy 4 didn't they? I guess that's cause they had Lucas on that team... who's like that on the JP team? Let's think. Not really anybody I can think of anymore. Steven Spielberg isn't really the biggest on the team anymore, John Williams left after TLW and Kathleen Kennedy evidently doesn't care about it. And don't get me started on Frank Marshall. So who really on that team wants the film to be made?
Jack Horner, but if I recall, he dropped out as soon as it got to the "Dinosaurs with Guns" stage so I'm really not sure if he cares anymore.
Oh well, I guess I'm one of the few left who actually care about the film. I just want to see it complete, with the same impact the first one had. It can be done. Read a fan script why don't you.

Was it big news?
Posted by jackdelamare on Friday, February 13 2009

I just watched a video of one of the Universal Studios Backlot Tours, and I noticed that when they got to the JP section, the tour guide mentioned Jurassic Park IV and says "there is a fourth Jurassic Park film rumoured to be roaring to life". Now he could just be saying that to excite the people on the tour but he wouldn't have said it if he'd have known about the recent news from Mrs Kennedy and Mr Marshall. Look at the date of the video, "December 08, 2008", the date of the news. Hmm. Did they just say it to give them more time? It doesn't seem like quite a big thing with the people at Universal. I wonder what's going on.

Listen to his confirmation. And then listen to how he said it. He is so sure of it, he is quick to say "That's gonna happen". Jurassic Park 4 WAS GOING TO HAPPEN. They wanted it, judging by that video more so than Indy 4, but what the hell happened?

Website URL Updated
Posted by jackdelamare on Wednesday, January 21 2009

When I first uploaded this site, the jurassicparkiv.org domain re-directed to where the website was actually uploaded, but I just re-uploaded the website to the directory jurassicparkiv.org on my delamarepro.com server, and now the website URL sticks to jurassicparkiv.org. I'm surprised I never found this out before, now there's no re-directs, just the proper URL.

If you have a new on Jurassic Park IV (unlikely, but still) then please forward it to me.

Sorry for the downtime! No word on IV, yet.
Posted by jackdelamare on Monday, January 19 2009

Sorry for the news being down, not sure what happened there, I changed a bit of code and it works. I had the URL instead of the server path... but anyway.

No word on the fourth film yet, rumours were spread years ago that Universal had the rights to 6 Jurassic Park films, and a huge money raping company like that wouldn't give up the last 3 films, so I still think it's going to happen.

Therefore, keep signing that petition!

Jurassic Park 4 Page DOWN On IMDb
Posted by jackdelamare on Saturday, December 13 2008

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0369610/

It's gone! IMDb are usually quite up to date on things, even if they're sometimes quite unreliable, they get a lot of things right and this really is something sad. I hope it comes back up, it's been there almost since the release of JP3 in 2001, so what a waste of 6/7 years.

UPDATE: I got some information from the IMDb page. Check it out here.

Status Unstable
Posted by jackdelamare on Thursday, December 11 2008

It's unclear exactly what's going to be happening with the fourth film in the franchise, but it doesn't seem like anything will happen anytime soon. I am still going to write to Universal to try and get some sort of comfirmation, so PLEASE sign the petition and send it around to everybody you know, I'm aiming for around 1000 signatures before I sent it. Thanks to everybody who has signed so far, I've noticed a dramatic increase since this news was released.

Anyway, to keep support for JPIV up and running I am thinking about opening a purely JPIV forum... what do you think to that? It would just be to discuss what we know, what we hope for and the general status of the film. Contact me to let me know what you think.

Jurassic Park 4 Not So Dead
Posted by jackdelamare on Wednesday, December 10 2008

Producer Frank Marshall, one of the people in charge of getting the long rumored fourth Jurassic Park off the ground, spoke about the future of his dinos. He did not see one. Marshall made it pretty clear that he did not see any point in continuing to try and do another movie, and so we all ran out and sadly declared the JP franchise dead.

Not so fast.

It seems that even though Marshall is no longer interested in making Jurassic Park 4, Universal Pictures still is. According to HR, though Universal has decided not to renew it is production deal with Frank Marshall, they still have both he and his producing partner Kathleen Kennedy working on Jurassic Park 4 and Bourne 4 for them. This actually confirms something we heard from one of our sources last week, that Universal is getting involved and is keen to get another dino movie done.

Now maybe it is not particularly good news that Universal has a disinterested producer working on a movie so many of us care about. A little enthusiasm from the people in charge of making it would be nice. But, enthusiastic or not it seems like Jurassic Park 4 is still up on the chalk board.

---

So, maybe there is a little light at the end of the tunnel for us JP fans still hoping for a fourth film. I certainly hope so, and I never really liked Frank Marshall - who cares if he's not working on the film?!

Still, sign the petition. :)

Producers Say No to Jurassic Park 4
Posted by jackdelamare on Monday, December 8 2008

Producers Frank Marshall and Kathleen Kennedy just revealed at today's junket for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button that plans have fallen through for a fourth entry in the "Jurassic Park" franchise.

When asked if there was any development on the long-anticipated sequel, Kennedy responded, "No... I don't know. You know, when Crichton passed away, I sorta felt maybe that's it. Maybe that's a sign that we don't mess with it."

Since Joe Johnston's Jurassic Park III in 2001, Universal has been developing a fourth outing in the successful franchise. The studio commissioned William Monahan and John Sayles to pen a script in '04.

---

So terribly dissapoiting, I am very angry and no bet that all of you fans are too. I'm going to write to them, and send them the petition that I created a while ago. Sign it, pass it around:

Welcome to Jurassic Park... 4!
Posted by jackdelamare on Tuesday, June 3 2008

Welcome to the brand new Jurassic Park 4 fansite, bringing you all the latest news that we may receive in the build up to Jurassic Park 4.
The film is only in pre-production right now... probably not even that. As stated by producer Frank Marshall, the film is "on the back, back burner" and they haven't paid attention to it in a while. It's like it always has been; in development hell.
Personally I'm still hoping for the film, even though it would probably be better for the franchise that it wasn't released. They've promised us this film though, and I damn well want to see a good film to maybe, keep the franchise alive.
Like stated earlier, the film is in development hell so there won't be much news on it until it get's back in production, and at this time I must say that they said they would begin working on it once Indiana Jones 4 was complete... and that time has come, but no Jurassic Park 4, what a surprise.
Anyway, if you happen to come accross any news regarding Jurassic Park 4 then please foward it to me using the contact form on the contact page.
Thanks, and enjoy the site.
