Codename: Kids Next Door, an undercover international alliance of top-secret 10-year-olds, is gearing-up for its final mission Jan. 21, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Cartoon Network honors the group of kids that have gone above and beyond the call of duty with a special tribute. The day begins at 6 a.m. (ET, PT) with a marathon of the best episodes and a countdown of Tom Warburton’s, creator of Codename: Kids Next Door, top five favorites, all leading up to the premiere of the one-hour series finale at 7 p.m. (ET, PT).

“Operation: I.N.T.E.R.V.I.E.W.S.” (It’s Now The Extra Really Very Interesting End Wrap-up Story) is a special one-hour conclusion to the top-rated Cartoon Network series. In a slew of interviews with the Kids Next Door after they’re all grown up, the former operatives are temporarily brought out of their decommissioned haze to discuss what happened during their very last mission with Numbuh One—the one where he disappeared and was never heard from again! It all started with a routine mission to get the Delightful Children’s birthday cake, but when a mysterious boy steals it instead, he makes it available to whoever wants it—if they can solve his simple scavenger hunt first. Soon it’s a mad, mad, mad, mad chase around the world as the KND, their friends, and virtually all of their enemies compete to win the yummiest cake ever while Nigel Uno is faced with the most difficult choice of his life: the KND or his friends. And the answer is out of this world.

Codename: Kids Next Door follows the escapades of five eager, yet bumbling, 10-year-olds as they join forces against adult villains to fight for the right to enjoy all the fun things in life. These principled kids tackle the really important issues facing their peers, like the right to stay up late or to eat whatever they want. The series, which debuted on Cartoon Network December 2002, was greenlit to become a Cartoon original series by viewers through an online vote. Award-winning animator Mr. Warburton is the creator of Codename: Kids Next Door. Warburton developed the Cartoon Network animated short Kenny and the Chimp and served as director on Cartoon Network’s acclaimed series Sheep in the Big City. Warburton was the lead character designer on Pepper Ann and worked with J.J. Sedelmaier Production on television projects including Saturday Night Live and Schoolhouse Rock.
