In addition to the price cut for the 1GB iPod shuffle, Apple also introduced a new 2GB model for a low $69. Pricing the new 2GB iPod shuffle under the previous price point for the 1GB model is a great move on Apple's part and is sure to anger a few customers who purchased shuffles in recent months.

Now that the mystery of the missing iPhones has been solved, Apple can rest assured that its “wonder phone” will continue to thrive on the Chinese market before the official release. China Mobile, the largest carrier of its kind in China, said that at the end of 2007 its services reached 400,000 unlocked iPhones, a larger number than the initial estimations.

John Sculley is famous among Apple fans for wresting control of the company from Steve Jobs in the mid-1980s.

That his Wikipedia article is written in a somewhat unencyclopedic tone should be forgiven. After all, how else would we know how he saved Apple from Steve's futile visionary ideas?

Mac OS X attacks to become more common, says survey

An overwhelming majority of end-users surveyed believe Apple's Mac platform will be more widely targeted by cybercriminals in the future.

Ninety-three percent of the 350 respondents to a survey conducted by Sophos, an anti-virus vendor, said they think attacks on the Mac OS X operating system will become more common.

iPhone SDK information leaks

Apple is working with other companies to test and develop the software development kit for the creation of third-party applications for the iPhone.

The iPhone SDK is now expected to ship alongside new iPhone software, firmware version 1.1.4, at least that's what leaked information on the web implies.

Apple lures even loyal Windows users

As I look at a newly arrived MacBook Air laptop, it occurs to me there has never been a better time to switch to a Mac.

That's not something I say lightly. With the exception of a couple of years working at a magazine, I have never been a Mac user. After all, I'm a game player and games on the Mac are always light years behind games on Windows. I've not been smitten by Steve Jobs' famous "reality distortion field," and have decades behind me as a Microsoft user.
