World Press Review Online is an electronic version of the print magazine
of the same title published by the Stanley Foundation featuring news and
views from around the world.
World Press Review is the journal of record for a small but influential
global audience, providing an unprecedented platform for ideas and
opinions on topics of significant international concern.
For more than 30 years, World Press Review has translated and republished
articles culled from hundreds of the world's finest magazines and
newspapers, presenting international news and views too often overlooked
by the U.S. press.
More than simply a source of international news and information, World
Press Review provides readers with a succinct view of the political and
economic climate outside of the U.S., as well as how the rest of the world
perceives the role the U.S. plays in the global community. In any given
issue, World Press Review includes news articles, editorials and cartoons
from publications such as Moscow's Izvestia, the Beijing Review, the Daily
Nation of Nairobi, and Die Zeit of Hamburg.
More than 100,000 readers find World Press Review ssential because it
deepens their understanding of worldwide issues and concerns. Each
nation's press tends to view world events through a prism of its own
language, culture and national interest. Thus, a closer version of truth
may be gained from reading a variety of reporting, commentary and critical
analysis from many nations.
World Press Review is a unique tool for experienced internationalists and
influential opinion-makers: It breaks the barriers of language, geography,
and culture, providing first-hand information--free from bias imposed by
the U.S. press. Perhaps that's why the magazine counts among its readers
all 535 members of Congress, the 9 justices of the United States Supreme
Court, senior officials in the White House, as well as Walter Cronkite,
David Brinkley and Mike Wallace.
World Press Review is considered an invaluable source for understanding
the issues and events of the world today.
