AppJet Inc. is a startup company founded in San Francisco, California by MIT alumni, former Google engineers, and shameless self-promoters.

Mission

We want to provide a place for beginner programmers and experienced developers alike to build simple web apps with minimal fuss.

For beginner programmers, AppJet makes it easy to build apps and share them with friends. We don't require you to know lots of different programming languages, and we drastically simplify the process of getting your work hosted online. Why can't web programming be as easy as desktop programming, or easier?

Experienced web programmers (like ourselves) are drawn to elegant, well-designed tools. JavaScript is a great example of such a tool that is easy to learn, but also appealing to advanced users. As programmers we like challenging problems, but we'll choose simplicity over needless complexity any day when it comes to getting something done. We have lots of ideas for quick web apps, and we've spent too much time configuring servers, configuring SQL schema, installing software, and transferring files, just to accomplish the equivalent of a 20-line AppJet app.

Executive Team

• David Greenspan is on hiatus from grad school at MIT, and is the resident virtual machines expert, graphic designer, and JavaScript master. He holds a bachelor's degree in physics from MIT.
• Aaron Iba worked at Google as an engineer in Search Quality before joining AppJet. He is the front-end coder and pretends to be the "business guy" when necessary. He holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from MIT.
• J.D. Zamfirescu also worked at Google before AppJet. He is our systems expert and wrote the webserver and persistent storage system that run AppJet apps. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in computer science from MIT.
