Eddie Collins (American baseball star, 1887-1951)
played baseball for 25 years in the major leagues, a 20th century record for
position players. His batted over .340 ten times and is a member of the 3,000
hit club.� He was elected to the
National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1939.
The following
is a selection of snapshots from the 1910s-20s that were a part Collins'
personal photograph album.� As you will
see, most of these snapshots show Collins and his baseball friends away from
the baseball diamond.

Corporal Collins (back to us) and the Chicago White Sox march to the Spring Training ball park in Mineral
Wells Texas.� This was a part of training in anticipation of America�s entering World War I.
