This website exists to encourage the use of traditional English Dialects which have been threatened almost to extinction by the dominance of Standard English in the media. The vision is for it to grow to become a linguistic and cultural forum for people to express themselves in writing in their own traditional regional dialects.
Don�t worry, were not looking for a revolution, more a record of traditional English before it�s too late! We are probably the last generation who will be able to remember older relatives who spoke with strong dialects, so lets write them down!
Please submit your dialect poems and short stories. Click on the 'Submit Entry' Link at the top Left of the Screen. Remember to say which region the poem is from.
