Filming for AvP2 Movie All Wrapped Up Movie News | 12/9/2006 | 16:23 PST - David Shipley
Filming for AvP2 the movie ended yesterday on December 8th.
So what does this mean? It means the fun's just started; editing
begins this week.
"We're back in LA now, and editing begins this week,"
Colin Strause said in response to a forum post by leprechaun62689
on the Internet
Movie Database forum (reportedly Colin Strause--pretty much
confirmed he's posted there a few times).
Once they finish editing, Fox might come out with photos, interviews,
even trailers. Which would be just awesome, man. Thanks to our
movie guy Gareth for the news/tips.
Few weeks ago, when GameSpy/IGN asked Fox when Planet AvP can
get some of that love -- we're all owned by Fox Interactive
Media -- they said AvP2 wasn't even assigned to a publicist
yet. Hopefully, things'll start to look up in the near future.

Weird Alien Images: Back-Scratcher, Open-Top Head... Other News | 12/9/2006 | 15:23 PST - David Shipley
Hey, an anonymous fan mailed these weird
Alien images over; he won't tell me where he got them.
Which usually means porn site. Haha! But it's all good; I
won't tell.
Agree, the Alien would make an excellent back-scratcher (hopefully, ribbed
for my pleasure).
Note: You don't really think Giger uses this
to scratch his back, do you? Right!

Alien Film Voted #13 'Movie Franchise of All Time' Movie News | 12/9/2006 | 15:22 PST - David Shipley
IGN, or as I call them, mommy, added number thirteen to their
Top
25 Movie Franchises of All Time list. Isn't that something?
Yeah, especially when 'thirteen' is Alien. Uh-huh!
"Attention, earthlings!
IGN Movies has taken it upon itself to rank the 'Top 25 Movie
Franchises of All Time.' We will count down from No. 25 to
No. 1 each day for the next 25 days..."
That sounds cool. Throw me some chips--I'll
read it. Thanks, Jordan.
Note: If IGN is 'mommy,' who the hell is GameSpy?
"David Has Two Mommies."

Bob & Progg's World Returns! PlanetAvP News
| 12/9/2006 | 5:04 PST - David Shipley
Bob
& Progg's World
Bob
- Who's Yo' Daddy? - SiL, Chris Beaver
Commander
Dick N. Charge - That Bug is Not My Friend - The Oracle,
Chris Beaver
Progg
- Progg Trek III: The Search for Bob - Shoot Me I'm Dumb,
Chris Beaver
Yeah, I remember Bob & Progg. It was awesome. It put together
an Alien and a Predator whose adventures were just absolutely
nutso! It was genius. I couldn't wait for the next issue.
Now Commander Dick N. Charge wants to get in on the act.
I asked if I could join their Cool Club, y'know, 'cause that'd
be just awesome. I even have a guy all worked out. See, he goes
to Tibet for a couple years with the dude from the Darkman
and becomes a crazy, batsh** ninja! Too bad Bruce Bat was rejected.
Well, they can go screw themselves. I'm still awesome. And
I'm reading their B&P issue.

Photos of Dave and Pseudo Hero PlanetAvP News
| 12/8/2006 | 4:49 PST - David Shipley
So yeah, I got a digital camera and thought I'd show
it off. All right with you guys? Staff guy Pseudo Hero thought
he'd chip in, too:
Wearing what could possibly be the gayest
T-shirt of all time (hey, they sell it cheap here) is yours
truly. That thing I call a friend is Pseudo Hero, otherwise
known as "just another abused member of Planet AvP's under-appreciated
posse."
Pseudo Hero: "Just buy me a taco, maybe
a burrito. Hey, would you happen to have a cigarette?"
He really wanted to quote his cousin Cheech and say, "If
this is torture, chain me to the wall!" But he's offline.
And it's late. And I'm out of time.

AvP: Dead End Fan Film Complete Other News | 12/8/2006 | 4:46 PST - David Shipley
Couple trailers for this thing came out last week. Now the full
thirty-four-minute movie's up - Alien
vs. Predator: Dead End.
Man, it should be Alien vs. Predator vs. HALO Dude, 'cause he's
in it. But they didn't ask me when they made the movie, did
they?
Watch
the film. Nice job, Sandeep Dhanjal.

Monolith: Up to Fox for AvP3 Game Game News | 12/8/2006 | 4:43 PST - David Shipley
This is not really news, I guess, but it gets interesting. With
two online petitions up (one
and two)
to get Monolith to make the next AvP3 game, the pressure's on
for some kind of response. But Monolith says they don't even
have the license to make the game, anymore. So stop asking.
Monolith Productions:
"Thank you for your suggestions. We are happy you enjoyed
AVP2. Fox is the license holder for this property and it would
be up to them whether additional sequels are created."
That was a response to an E-mail Israeli AvP fan Abyss sent in.
He even showed
me a screenshot. Thanks, buddy.
Note: Really, Abyss? Aww, I had no idea Borat
was speaking Hebrew the whole time, man. That's funny as hell.
Jagshemash, baby!
...Sorry, the drugs kicked in.

'Voodoo Too' Predator Music Video Other News | 12/7/2006 | 17:53 PST - David Shipley
This ElderPredator guy likes his Predator music videos--he's
made more than a dozen. Now he's out with Predator
Music Video: Voodoo Too, which borrows shamelessly from
that hard-living front man of rock, Godsmack.
There's some slick editing involved here, guys. I call it scary
voodoo sh*t; I can't deny he's got talent. Watch
the video. Thanks to miniman for the tip.

Unreal Tournament Map Pack (AvP2 Beta) Game News | 12/7/2006 | 6:07 PST - David Shipley
Mapping genius The_One's out with a new map pack called
UT Small Map
Pack (Beta). It's for AvP2, yeah, but it's only a beta version.
I dig that name, man - The_One. Sort of reminds you of the most
important things in life; life, love, dildo. So damn rare, these
days.
Download the
map pack.
Note: The_One also released two seperate maps:
Abandoned
Depot and Champion.
One of them looks pretty
damn sweet, too.

Little Taste of the Strause Brothers Movie News | 12/7/2006 | 6:06 PST - David Shipley
I posted about the Strause Brothers' - guys directing the AvP2
movie - Web site before,
but I never really checked their Past
Work section. It's pretty cool. I know it's mostly music
videos and commercials, but Strause fan shakermakerman said
the horror movie trailers are really something,
They're titled under Universal Studios Orlando "Scare"
and "Creep."
Like I said, they're pretty cool -
check 'em out.
I think AvP2'll be OK. Maybe in the toilet bowl that is today's
Hollywood, AvP2 is the new hot sh*t.

YouTube: ET the Retard (With Alien Cameo) Other News | 12/6/2006 | 21:48 PST - David Shipley
ET the Extraterrestrial starred in an episode of Robot Chicken
couple weeks back;
now it's posted on YouTube. It's funny, I guess, and a big
hit at the place.
Hey, Alien cameo have something to do with it?
Most people I know aren't into ET, mostly 'cause of his proven
ability to make you GLAAD.
ET understands this--that's why he wears a T-shirt and cap to
keep down the hate. Now people just give him dirty looks, instead
of reaching into their jacket for their murder knife.
Hey, enough of that. Let's
watch the video. Thanks to Fire Redhead for the tip.

SKNR.Net MySpace Page Movie News | 12/6/2006 | 1:16 PST - David Shipley
Gareth, our AvP2 movie guy, runs Skiewed
and Reviewed, a quality movie news and review site. He wanted
to let us know its MySpace
page is up now, too. I know it doesn't have a lot to do
with AvP, but hey, its movies in general - check
it out.

YouTube: AvP in Chipmunkese Other News | 12/6/2006 | 1:15 PST - David Shipley
"Hey, this face tastes like chicken." -- Facehugger
in video
Yo, here's another oldie, but goodie (back in June) sent to
me by miniman and Leyna Pelli. It's called AvP
in 100 Frames and 90 Seconds and it's big on YouTube, only
they didn't tell me it's cause Alvin and the Chipmunks narrate
it.
Y'know, I can sound like a chipmunk too if someone kicked my
kids. Good thing I know a girl who loves to take me and the
kids to where she eats; that always makes me happy.
Man, I can go on and on, but I'm still feeling pretty tired
from yesterday's trip (Pseudo knows). Let's
watch the video.

AvP2 Movie Directors on Cinematography Style? Movie News | 12/5/2006 | 17:39 PST - David Shipley
Greg and Colin Strause sometime like to answer questions on
the Internet Movie Database's AvP2
movie forums. Today, they talk
a bit about the cinematography in the film:
Colin Strause:
"From a lighting standpoint, the rule is to backlight everything,
which give us deep contrast to hide our creatures in the background,
and also gives us a cool rim-lit look to our humans. When
the action picks up in intensity, the camera work will go
from dollly/crane moves to mostly handheld to make the auidence
feel like it's part of the action, with a 2.40 widescreen
letterbox for graphic compositions. There is also not a single
frame of slow motion footage in the movie either. The last
thing is atmosphere. Every shot has either rain, fog, steam,
haze, etc, etc to give footage the depth."
Greg Strause: "Daniel Pearl was always
at the top of our list. We are huge fans of TCM [Texas
Chainsaw Massacre], but it had more to do with our personal
taste than anything else. Gritty has been a key phrase we've
used in regards to this film..."
Supposedly, the Strause brothers signed up with their official
E-mail addresses, which they need to confirm--so it's likely
them. So
read the full thread. Thanks, Mike for the tip. You're my
main man (for today).

3DCreative: Half-Naked Woman as Predator Merchandise News | 12/5/2006 | 3:19 PST - David Shipley
In the December
issue of 3DCreative Magazine, a half-naked woman
in a Predator costume graces the front cover. And she's hot
- especially for a computer-generated chick.
No idea, really, why a woman Predator's in the magazine; it's
not explained on
the Web site or in the free
'lite' version of the magazine. I guess it's just 'fan art,'
and a good one, at that. Thanks to KiLLer for the tip.
Note: Finally, something I can go home and
spank it to instead of the newspaper lingerie ads again. Leather
chafing, here I come. *Fap, fap*

YouTube: Dancing Predator Loves PlanetAvP.com PlanetAvP News
| 12/5/2006 | 3:18 PST - David Shipley
Mark "Dancing Predator" English like his Planet AvP
so much, he
made a video thanking us for his posting his
Predator dance video. All I can say is...no problem, man!
We're not the Academy Awards, but we appreciate the thanks (especially
your little dance number at the end).
If we could give you a hot, sexy group-kiss full of tongue,
we would.
Hey, if you ever swing around Wheeling, West Virginia, you can
meet Planet AvP's co-Administrator Pseudo Hero, and
watch him dance.

Hahaha! You don't get killer punchlines like that, man, except
at Aliens
Loves Predator. See, Abe and Preston's apartment's on fire,
and Preston thinks Abe should take it a little more seriously.
One of the best issues of the Web comic yet - check
it out.

| 12/4/2006 | 3:14 PST - David Shipley
That's how it goes; you post fan art, you
get fan art in return. I didn't even say, "Hey man,
send your own?" I just get 'em. I get a kick outta' that!
Big thanks to Olaf Brunson, Tyler Wassgren, Ravager, and Mark
English. They're great - check out their stuff in the Fan

Action Figure Video by Dancing Predator Dude Other News | 12/4/2006 | 3:12 PST - David Shipley
That dude is Mark English - the one who did the dancing
Predator video. He wants us to see his other video AvP:
A Deadly Game, which uses action figures and live-action.
Man, I wish I was that into AvP; I'd like doing Planet AvP more. Most pleasure I get is when I make an ass out of myself
on the front page (oh, and yeah, and when I count my money).
Anyway, it's called AvP: A Deadly Game. It's great - you
should check it out. If not, watch
his other videos.
