Powerslide and Civ II Gold are now available.

December 9, 1998

  • GT Ships Powerslide
GT Interactive is now shipping Powerslide for Windows 95, an off-road racing game developed by an Australian company with the attractive name of Ratbag. A demo is available at http://www.gtgames.com/games/powerslide.

  • Civ II Gold Available
Microprose has released Civilization II Gold Multiplayer, which contains the original game, two expansion packs, and a new multiplayer mode playable over LAN, modem and Internet--it is playable for free over the MSN Gaming Zone. Its price at $30.

  • Ultima Ascension Delayed
According to Origin, Ultima Ascension has been delayed, this time being pushed back into quarter two of 1999. The game, the ninth in this long-running roleplaying game series, has been the subject of much controversy, with many long-time fans of Ultima expressing concern that the RPG elements have been "dumbed down" in favor of Tomb Raider-style gameplay.
