    Just an extremely Normal thing to say

    Reminder they want to increase the budget for ICE from 3.5 to 45 billion dollars.

    Reminder the majority of that will be for building new detention centers.

    Reminder ICE are *currently* detaining tourists who can pay for a plane ticket home and people with visa issues that were already resolved, because they have to make quota so Trump can brag about the numbers going up.

    Reminder most of these people were already in the immigration system - that's why they were easy to detain.

    Reminder this is all at taxpayer expense.

    Reminder these are people.

    Okay so for anyone who hasn’t seen the original, this lady went viral in like. 2010 or something? Because she was going around trying to convince people that Monster energy drinks were satanic and when you flipped the can upside down to drink it showed some satanic sign or something?

    What she says in this video is “bottoms up- and the devil laughs” in the most painfully sincere way that only super incorrect people can be when they’re emotionally invested

    But anyways, I saw this post and thought “damn, I wonder where she is now, I wonder if maybe her life got better” but YALL SHE HAS A WIKIPEDIA PAGE AND IT’S??

    First off, ultra-religious upbringing, like no TV no music type wild. Then supposedly as a teen she says she “rebelled” by getting into whatever she thinks witchcraft is. Then she gets pregnant super young, is pressured into marrying the father, cheats on him for years, finally divorces, remarried, and finds like. A metal album in there stepdaughter’s room with satanic lyrics that convinces her to return to being a warrior of God.

    So first off. I’m betting it’s pretty likely she’s got a shitload of unaddressed trauma, which is none of my business and not an excuse, but it does kind of give you some sympathy for what she turned into.

    Basic run of the mill Christian extremism, firstly- She’s harassed Muslim people and interfered with prayer, she routinely protests against homosexuality (one of those hold-a-sign-by-the-road types), and the only link in the “more” drop-down connects to the westboro Baptist church.

    So she’s what common folk would call a wingnut, yes.

    But do you know what I wasn’t prepared for?

    She has protested some church Easter events. She yelled at a person dressed as the Easter Bunny in a Tennessee church parking lot, "You are nothing more than Santa Claus coming into a Christian Church! Shame on you!"[18] She protested at the First Freewill Baptist Church's Easter egg hunt.[19]ALT

  • I take immense schadenfreude in Elon Musk spending $25 million to try to influence an election in Wisconsin only for the candidate he was backing to lose by a larger margin than was predicted before Musk got into the race. Like how tf do you dump that much money into a state supreme court election and get not only nothing out of it but LESS than nothing. That's a truly impressive level of failure.   • Okay but the funny part is that they didn't actually make the bats bigger? They are the same general size, but they changed the shape so that the weight distribution is different. Like, that's why they're still within regulations: they just moved the mass around. And somehow that makes a way better bat.
