Carlos Rodriguez liked thisCarlos Rodriguez liked thisAskNews is delighted to welcome The Guardian to our publisher programme! Research and high-stakes decision platforms rely on high quality source material from publishers like The Guardian. Meanwhile, publishers deserve a clear view of how their journalism is being used and the value that is being extracted. This is precisely the relationship AskNews aims to foster. This agreement wasn't one of our typical licensing engagements. The Guardian helped shape important technical and contractual decisions that other publishers in our corpus will benefit from for years to come. The SPUR Coalition telemetry component is central to tracing how reporting is used inside AskNews, from retrieval to grounding and citation. Our publisher dashboard and API make that activity visible to the publishers behind the journalism. A warm welcome to The Guardian 🤗 A special thanks to the very thoughtful, forward looking individuals, who saw this through to completion including Carlos Rodriguez, Ross Paterson, and Robert Hahn from The Guardian's side, and Wagner Costa Santos, Elin Törnquist, and Robert Caulk from the AskNews side for implementation of technical SPUR requirements.

Carlos Rodriguez liked thisCarlos Rodriguez liked thisI've been in enterprise software sales for a long time. Long enough to have lived through a few moments where you could feel the ground shifting beneath your feet. The first was when SaaS arrived. I remember conversations with IT Directors who thought the cloud was a phase. Twelve months later, those same people were asking why they hadn't moved sooner. The second was when AI assistants started showing up in every product deck. Useful? Yes. Transformational? Not quite. It was still humans doing the work just with better suggestions. But right now, in 2026, I'm in the middle of a third shift. And this one feels different. The conversations I'm having across EMEA with Tax Directors in Frankfurt, CFOs in Amsterdam, Finance leaders in Dubai have a different quality to them. They're not asking "can AI help us with compliance?" They're asking "can AI do compliance for us?" That's the agentic moment. Not AI that advises. AI that acts. At Avalara, we call it Agentic Tax and Compliance™ agents that don't sit alongside your team, they work within your existing ERP, observing, deciding, and executing compliance workflows end-to-end. Built in, not bolted on. I don't think most businesses in EMEA have fully grasped what this means yet. But they will. Probably faster than they expect. I'm curious where are you in this conversation? Is your organisation still AI-curious, or are you already thinking agentic? Drop a comment below I'd love to hear where you're at. Or if you'd prefer to talk it through, feel free to reach out directly. Always happy to have the conversation. 👇 #AgenticAI #TaxCompliance #EMEA #FinTech #Avalara #FutureOfWork #SaaS

Carlos Rodriguez reacted on thisCarlos Rodriguez reacted on thisThis week our 2 part series Troy Story had its US debut on Nat Geo and Disney +, retitled as Legend of Troy: The Epic Rise and Fall. By all accounts it has done remarkably well and settled at number 5 in the Disney+ Top 10! With thanks to Benjamin Noot and team at Nat Geo for seeing the opportunity, and to Christopher Nolan for making the Odyssey, and by extension the Trojan War, popular again. Although, as of time of writing, I haven't seen the movie so I'm somewhat apprehensive in case Nolan has murdered Homer...here's hoping to come out of the cinema relieved, entertained and delighted!

I’m incredibly grateful to Sean T. Flynn for the trust and support, and especially to Liz Armbruester who has been a constant mentor and sounding board. Your guidance has shaped how I lead more than you know. Thank you as well to Greg Chapman for honest feedback always and the global sales leaders I partner with every day. A special callout to the EMEA Loyalty Team, leading this group has been one of the most rewarding parts of my journey. This is a team defined by grit, deep customer care, and an unwavering commitment to doing things the right way. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built together, and even more excited about what’s ahead. As we look forward, my focus is clear: scaling our international growth, strengthening our enterprise motion, and continuing to invest in exceptional talent across EMEA. This region has enormous potential, and we’re just getting started. We’re growing the team across EMEA, if building something meaningful in international business excites you, let’s talk. Excited for the journey ahead and what we’ll build together. LETS GO 2026

Carlos Rodriguez liked thisCarlos Rodriguez liked thisStill can’t quite believe it. I ran the Chicago Marathon! 🏅 It was emotional from start to finish. Nerves at the start, doubt in the middle and disbelief at the end — but every step was worth it. We raised over £5,600 for Youth Talk, and I’m still blown away by the generosity, encouragement and kindness from so many wonderful people. Every message, donation and bit of support meant so much and kept me going when it got tough. I am so incredibly grateful and thankful to everyone who supported me. A special mention for my amazing brother Alex Kemp who stayed with me every single step. He could have finished much faster but chose to pace me, cheer me on and make sure I crossed that line. I will never forget it. Thank you also to Jim Lewis and everyone at Youth Talk for their encouragement and the brilliant work they do supporting young people’s mental health. It was a privilege to run for such an inspiring cause. That final stretch will stay with me for a long time. A mix of relief, pride and disbelief all rolled into one. https://lnkd.in/eFFMdFNh #ChicagoMarathon #YouthTalk #Gratitude

Carlos Rodriguez liked thisWe're making a few changes in Three River Studios. Everyone is aware of the many ongoing challenges of the TV business, and equally the many new opportunities that demand a bit of rethinking of where you put your creative energies, how you do business, and how you deploy a finite set of resources. For a small team, active across multiple genres, UK and internationally, the rational way forward is to refocus. That means really putting all our efforts behind our non-scripted production business, Impossible Factual, the new digital opportunities offered by platforms like YouTube, and integrating the new possibilities offered by AI into how we continue to be leaders in bringing visual innovation to the screen. To do this we have to reluctantly put our scripted efforts via Three River Fiction on hold. It's especially frustrating that even getting a successful series made, as was Dead and Buried that went out last year, hasn't made it any easier to plot a course for the future when you are a small player in an increasingly disrupted marketplace. This means the brilliant Benjamin McGrath is leaving us. We wish him every success for the future. He's been the heart and soul of our scripted work, and Dead and Buried came into being entirely because he identified and grabbed an opportunity, and then through dogged hard work, wrangling both the creative and the broadcasters and others who backed it, made it happen. If you need a drama exec, you should try and hire him. Steve Maher and I, as co-Creative Directors of Three River Fiction, are leaving the door ajar rather than shutting up shop, but for the foreseeable future you will find us next door with the factual gang.Carlos Rodriguez liked thisTRS puts scripted activities on hold Three River Fiction, the scripted arm of Three River Studios is pausing further active development of its slate. Jonathan Drake, CEO of Three River Studios, said, ‘It’s a tough time across the industry, and incredibly hard for smaller players to stay in the very long game of developing and financing original drama. Our focus going forward is to strengthen our non-scripted business, Impossible Factual, and putting new energies into our emerging digital strategy.’ As a result, Ben McGrath, Head of Drama, is leaving the company. Group Creative Director Steve Maher said, ‘Ben has done an amazing job over the years, most recently leading the creative and bringing together the financing partners for ‘Dead and Buried’, our 4 part series for BBC NI and Virgin Media Ireland written by Colin Bateman. Despite the show’s success, in this current climate we weren’t able to fund a second series, but it is testament to Ben’s work in steering the show that it has now been nominated for Best Drama in the Northern Ireland RTS awards. We will all miss working with Ben, and wish him every success for the future.’

Carlos Rodriguez liked thisCarlos Rodriguez liked thisWe are delighted to confirm that our proposal to invest £17m into St David’s #Cardiff city centre has been approved by Cardiff Council. At Landsec, we’ve full confidence in physical retail, and we’ll continue to invest purposefully in the UK’s best retail destinations, like St David’s. During consultation, we heard that people want more quality open space, as well as enhanced entertainment and leisure opportunities. The proposal for a 102,000 sq ft pedestrianised city square—landscaped with trees and greenery—followed significant engagement with more than 5,000 people from the local community, alongside our own research that indicates 75% of people in Cardiff think developers should prioritise access to nature and green spaces. We’re providing a multipurpose leisure space for visitors to enjoy open-to-the-community performances, alongside markets, food vendors, and other events. Due to open in summer 2026, the transformation will create fresh opportunities for brands to access St David’s’ 30m annual footfall, in a period when St David’s is already reinforcing its position as a premier retail destination through recent partnerships with Pull&Bear, Sosandar, and Sostrene Grene. Our plan will enhance our strong family offer for St David’s, attracting more visits and increasing dwell times. Landsec is building on our strong leasing performance across our UK-wide retail portfolio, with occupancy now exceeding pre-pandemic levels at 96%. We want to deliver the best experiences throughout the UK, for the most people, all the while driving long-term and sustained value for our guests and brand partners – here's to St David’s Square doing just that. https://lnkd.in/eRyf-2qVSt David’s Square: What to expect from the £17m investment in Cardiff’s retail destinationSt David’s Square: What to expect from the £17m investment in Cardiff’s retail destination

@Pact’s new MADE in the Nations & Regions series showcases the great film and TV work going on across the UK. In Wales, seven development and production public funds invest over £11m per year into the industry. In Cardiff, the GVA of the audiovisual sector increased from £431m to £656m between 2016 and 2022.
