Really pleased with how tonight’s esports cyber security session was received.
The session, delivered in partnership with Esports Wales, focused on the real world cyber threats facing esports athletes, streamers, influencers, moderators, and gaming communities.
We discussed:
* Discord compromise
* Fake sponsorship scams
* Account hijacking
* Social engineering
* Doxxing and impersonation
* Protecting online identity and reputation
One piece of feedback stood out to me:
“It didn’t come across like another security talk, it was relatable.”
Another attendee said:
“It needs to be seen by others in the gaming community.”
That matters.
Cyber awareness within esports cannot feel corporate, generic, or disconnected from the reality of gaming culture and online communities. The threats are real, but the messaging also has to be relevant, practical, and engaging for the audience receiving it.
A huge thank you to John Jackson for hosting the session and supporting the conversation around cyber resilience within esports and creator communities.
Looking forward to continuing the work together.
