Paul Robeson, renowned actor, singer, athlete, and civil rights activist, was born in Princeton, NJ, on this date April 9, 1898.

The famous actor graduated from Rutgers University, and obtained a law degree from Columbia University, teaching Latin and playing pro football on the weekends to pay tuition.

Paul Robeson was the epitome of the 20th-century Renaissance man. His talents made him a revered man of his time.

Today, more than one hundred years after his birth, Robeson is just beginning to receive the credit he is due.

I’m watching Splash (1984) which is a romcom about a guy who falls in love with a mermaid, and when she chooses a human name she chooses Madison and guy says “that’s not a real name, but alright” which seems to imply that Madison was not a name until at least the 80’s and all girls named Madison are actually named after the mermaid. thought you should know

One of my biggest icks on YouTube are videos on stigmatized personality disorders where the only people that were asked about their experiences are fucking psychologists/psychotherapists, or even worse cops???

The last one is fucking disgusting, but if you truly believe that a psychologist can answer "What does it feel like to be a pathological narcissist?" better than a person with NPD, you are stupid. As a psych. major, and it irks me to even put it this way, our wacky knowledge on personality disorders doesn't amount to shit.

So kinda serious here, but I've been super sick for the past week and had to call out from work multiple times/leave early, and I honestly can't really afford to be doing that. I have car payments, tuition, and need to pay to move out by the end of the year and I'm barely making enough to get by as is. So if you were wanting to comm me at any point this is the ideal time to do it, I'm going to try to get as many comms as I can this year because I usually only get like 1 to 3 comms a year which doesn't cover really much. lads had a dream last night that i was at the elton john concert and halfway through crocodile rock he switched to a prince medley and real live flesh and blood prince walked out on stage, and into the stunned, hushed silence i said quietly, “i thought you were dead” and he looked straight at me through the crowds of a million people, put his mouth against the mic, and said “do i look like the kind of man who dies” absolute legend
