Verse Info:

This is an Alternate Universe of the show Steven Universe. In this universe, Rose and Greg conceive Twins. Rose realizes she can only give her Gem to one of the babies and begins to grieve over this. Pearl notices this grief and, knowing she’ll lose Rose either way, decides to give her Gem to one of the babies to make Rose happy.

The twins are born as a boy and a girl named Steven and Nora. Neither Pearl nor Rose planned on which baby got which Gem, so it was just coincidence that Steven got Rose’s Gem and Nora got Pearl’s.

The Verse was created by an artist named Pip, he/him, whose main accounts are peregrinvirtual.tumblr.com (rarely used because he’s lame) and littlepippit.deviantart.com.

Before asking a question, please clarify if it’s for the Artist or for one (or more) of the Characters. Please note that when asking Characters questions, you should have the same level of knowledge as Steven and Nora. For all intents and purposes, you, the asker, are a random human on their version of Earth. You don’t know about Fusion, or Corruption, or Homeworld, or the Diamonds, etc. Innocent questions like “Do you know Connie?” may be answered, if they’re not too meta. Also, remember, not all questions will or could possibly get answered.

Considering that this AU started around the same time as Change your mind was gonna came out (correct me if I'm wrong) did the revelation, like two years later, that Pink was the one who hurt her pearl drastically changed something in the plans for the the story you wanted to tell or nah? Also considering the fact that at the time many people (including Steven even) believed/just assumed White was the one who did it, did you also believe and wrote the AU with that in mind at any point?

The comic started in September, which was exactly BEFORE the Diamond Days arc started to air. So you’re absolutely right - back then, I knew NOTHING about White Pearl.

Thankfully, the first season of the comic didn’t really NEED a lot of details. I foreshadowed some stuff, but most of it didn’t need the show’s confirmation. It was just vague enough to fly under the radar.

What I DID correctly predict is that she used to be Pink’s. Just based on the design of her uniform, I assumed that, but didn’t make it a part of the story until it was confirmed.

As for the eye injury…

I decided to look it up because I had no recollection, and I confirmed that Volleyball aired in December of 2019…

….but then I realized that Earl’s reformation/story comic was in November 2019????? Which was the first time I hinted about Rose having to do something with that injured eye.

….and now I’m honestly unsure of whether I saw an episode preview and THAT was what tipped me off OR if I had just correctly predicted Pink was at fault OR………..The more likely scenario–

I was bullshitting details knowing that it was, once again, vague enough to work both ways.

Because technically, nothing that happens in this comic confirms nor denies who did what. Rose acts guilty, but only because she couldn’t heal the injury. There’s a story there, and perhaps not one directly related to the Who Done It question…. But one that is so close, you almost forget that it isn’t actually answering it.

Strangely enough, that story will be covered in more detail…. soon. :)

I may be able to shed light on this!

From the moment that we saw “White” Pearl it was a VERY commonly held theory that what happened to her was foreshadowed in the episode “Open Book”. The Cloud Connie/“White” Connie when she was in the wedding dress, was wearing an eye patch over the same eye as the new Pearl, and with the Gemstone in the same place as Rose’s it was a logical conclusion to assume that Rose told PP not to do what she wanted, which broke PP the way that it broke Cloud Connie.

This was the leading theory in the fandom all the way up to “Volleyball” where it was proven to be a violent outburst from Rose and not an accidental command gone wrong.

That’s likely where the idea that it was Rose’s fault was implanted, since it was so prevalent.

temple design submisson for @twiniverse

it ended up being a little crowded, and in fact i forgot a set of arms so it should have been an even more crowded design at the end. some things i want to mention are

- kept the crown from the original twinverse temple fusion, since i really liked it

- i could not draw rose's curls, so i opted for the ol' swoopy hair.

- i added some darker marks on the arms to indicate which arm represented who. a tear drop for lapis, an arrow for pearl (representing her spear), the symbol on rose's shield for rose, a flame for ruby, and an hourglass for agate (representing fusion i guess?)

- one of the hands is in the water, this is supposed to be lapis's :)

- two of the left arms are interlocked, these are pearl's and rose's. the canon temple has a missing weapon, which is seen in bubble buddies i believe. similarily, the interlocking arms should have a spear and shield, but they fell off.

- the most important bit is that in the canon temple, there is an arm resting underneath the house. here, i had one go below the house, and one go above. those are rose and pearl, holding hands, and keeping steven and nora (or at least their house) safe.

Rose’s curls being turned into tubes and swooshies is just how it be in this fandom HA. I think you did ood either way!

The “tatoo” idea is so creative, are you kidding me? I never would have thought of doing that on each arm! You’re so smart.

And I love the way you replaced Jasper’s Gem with an elongated bottom point on the crown. SO CREATIVE. It makes it more star-like too!!
