Vivian Jenna Wilson, the transgender daughter of Elon Musk, has been speaking up and how! From claiming that her ‘estranged’ father uses sex-selective IVF to ensure male children to calling the billionaire a ‘pathetic man-child’, Vivian has gone ‘all guns blazing’ in her latest interviews.

It is noteworthy that Vivian, while holding nothing back when it comes to criticizing her estranged father, does so while being financially independent of the billionaire. The 20-year-old currently lives in Tokyo where she studies as well.

Born in 2004, to Elon Musk and his first wife, Justine Wilson (a Canadian author), Vivian Jenna Wilson is a U.S. citizen.
Wilson was conceived by Justine via in vitro fertilization (IVF) as a twin. At birth, Vivian was assigned ‘male’ and was named Xavier. However, she began her gender transition at 16.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump ordered in January 2025 that the United States would recognise only two sexes, male and female. The executive order also stated that a person's sex is unchangeable.
Although Vivian doesn’t reside in the US currently, she still remains a US citizen.
Vivian recently accused Musk of using sex-selective IVF to ensure she would be a boy. The 20-year-old, in a scathing thread, claimed her "assigned sex at birth was a commodity that was bought and paid for." She claimed that he had used sex-selective IVF to conceive her, and her coming out as a transgender woman had gone against his plans.

However, Musk has yet to comment on these claims.
Vivian legally changed her name and gender on her birth certificate in June 2022, after applying in the Los Angeles County Superior Court.
However, Vivian has left the US and now lives in Tokyo, Japan.
Was her estranged father behind her relocation?
While Vivian said that she has been estranged from her father since 2020 when she came out as transgender woman, the 20-year-old revealed that the Tesla CEO had nothing to do with her decision to move out of the US and to Japan.

Vivian told Teen Vogue in an interview, "There is no world in which people should be owning multiple private planes, private islands, private whatever, while other people are sleeping on the street. I believe that wealth inequality is one of the biggest problems of the United States right now, especially of our generation."

She continued, "I feel like workers should be fairly compensated for the work that they do, and I don't feel like wealth should be hoarded by these mega-billionaires who are the top 1%, who only have their own interests at heart. I've met some of these billionaires—they're not very good people."

Vivian also made it quite clear that she considers Elon to be one of those billionaires, as she bluntly put it, "He's a pathetic man-child!”

Referring to Vivian, Musk once wrote a post on X (formerly, Twitter) saying, “My son, Xavier, died.” He added, “He was killed by the woke mind virus. Now, the woke mind virus will die.” The billionaire referred to Wilson using the “he” pronoun, although the 20-year-old now goes by she/her pronouns.
Vivian clapped right back at him, saying, “Why should I be scared of this man? Because he's rich? I don't give a f--k how much money anyone has.” She added, "I'll see things about him in the news and think, ‘That's f--king cringe. It's annoying that people associate me with him. I just don't have any room to care anymore."

While Vivian relocated to Tokyo to study languages (to study French, Spanish, and Japanese with the goal of becoming a translator), she is quite outspoken about her political views on social media as she describes herself as a leftist, believing in free healthcare and that food, shelter, and water are human rights.
