'The Diplomat' box office collection day 13: The John Abraham starrer drops further as it nears Rs 30 crore while 'Chhaava' still dominates

John Abraham's film 'The Diplomat' is now in its second week. The film is based on a true event and is a story of an Indian girl who gets rescued from Pakistan with the help of a Government official. John plays the role of diplomat JP Singh in the movie and has been getting a lot of love for it. The movie had an opening of Rs 4 crore on its opening day but has continued to remain steady due to positive word of mouth. Infact, it saw a good growth on the second weekend and made more than Rs 5 crore as a total on second Saturday and Sunday.
According to Sacnilk, by the end of week 1, the movie had collected Rs 19.15 crore. But it saw a good growth over the second Saturday and Sunday. While it made Rs 2.5 crore on Saturday, the collection on Sunday was Rs 2.75 crore. However, there was a huge drop on second Monday and the movie made only Rs 90 lakhs. Further it saw more drop on Tuesday, day 12. It earned 85 lakhs. On Wednesday, which is day 13, the movie dropped further and made Rs 75 lakhs. Thus, the total collection of the film so far is ₹ crore.

While Vicky Kaushal starrer 'Chhaava' is in its 6th week, the film still has an edge over 'Diplomat' and is doing better. The movie made approximately Rs 8 crore as a total in its sixth Saturday and Sunday. Even on Monday, the number was better than 'Diplomat'. The film minted Rs 1.75 crore on its 6th Monday.
