I think to Helena, Eddie is frozen as his 19 year old self.

Her perception of him, and especially his age, has always been skewed thanks to the parentification, but missing out on those crucial five years after the shock that was Shannon's pregnancy did tremendous damage. When Eddie comes back from Afghanistan, he's a 'war hero' to his father, but to his mother he's still the same kid who made a mistake and can't do anything right, a belief that gets reaffirmed when Shannon leaves and he struggles trying to juggle three jobs and time with his son.

Then, he leaves for LA to be a firefighter - another snap decision that she views as childish and ill-considered - and for seven years, he's gone again, and remains in her mind as the kid that stupidly ran from home, but will eventually have to return when things inevitably don't work out for him.

And now that he's back in El Paso, and she feels like she was right all along, we can see just how much this skewed perception messes up their whole family dynamic; Helena almost treats Eddie like he's Chris's older brother, not his father, as if he's just playing house, a delusional teen believing themselves an adult, someone who can't actually be trusted with a child.

And isn't that just deeply tragic? The parentified son, who was never granted an unburdened childhood, now being denied the freedom and autonomy of adulthood as well?

I will never get over the fact that they’ve been shoving Buck in shirts two sizes too small for like seven seasons but now in s8 they’re putting him in the coziest baggiest clothes and letting his curls out and he looks ten times hotter THANK YOU 911 COSTUME TEAM

Now free Eddie from his ugly ass flannels and hair gel👏👏👏

god i love so so much how buck won't lie to eddie, because he still does it with such compassion. he's like yeah, you fucked up. but you fucked up before, and at least you can fix it better this time. he's brutally honest because he knows eddie needs it, needs to not be lied to, but he also knows eddie is using the truth to berate himself. so he acknowledges the truth of the situation but empowers eddie to break out of the damaging mental cycles he's slipping into. no empty platitudes, just meeting him where he is and helping him out. it's rooted in such deep love and understanding of each other and i love it something fierce

Eddie calling his one childless friend for parenting advice because he's the only one he can be truly vulnerable with

Can we talk about how Buck is from Eddie’s perspective? He’s not silly or dumb or a himbo or any of the other things I actually love about Buck but make him a less serious character.

In each FaceTime Buck is competent, smart and reassuring. He’s making dinner at the station which means multitasking and good cooking skills. He’s available when Eddie calls which is reliable. He listens and offers good advice. He’s selfless and doesn’t take the opportunity to encourage Eddie home when we know he feels like he’s missing a limb without him. I’m not sure, but I think Buck even stutters less? He’s calm and confident, more sure of his advice and obviously doubts himself less.

Buck from Eddie’s perspective is everything Buck wants to be for the people he loves. Yes, Buck and Eddie also get to be silly together and we see that in Buck’s view, but how beautiful is it that he’s also this mature and stable partner?

"Trans men and women are both suffering" and "trans women are often specifically targeted by bigotry and harassment even within their own communities and deserve to be able to talk about their own unique challenges without being talked over" and "trans men are often erased from conversations about how bigotry and transphobia targets them and are not exempt from all the horribly draconian laws transphobes are attempting to pass" and "being trans doesn't make you immune to participating in horrible transmisogyny even and especially if you aren't aware you're doing it" and "holy shit don't reinvent bioessentialism but for trans people like holy fuck men are not destined to be evil and women aren't automatically incapable of harm" are all opinions that can and fucking SHOULD coexist

I'm losing my mind over how Buck said that Eddie didn't go there to be a firefighter either, he went to be Christopher's dad. and then Christopher said the same, that of course he wants Eddie to stick around because he is his DAD. Buck tells Eddie it's not true that Chris is only proud of him for his job, that it's not true that he failed because of a job change. and Chris echoes the same, that he's proud of Eddie and he wants him to save his money so that he can stay more easily. the way Buck and Chris haven't talked and yet both of them were echoing the same thing to Eddie?? I need a minute!

Louis accidentally saying Armand's name in bed with Lestst in s3 would make my YEAR

Early evening, Louis stirs in bed, rolls over, and nuzzles into long silky hair. Without opening his eyes, he maps out the delicate wrists, toned arms, and broad shoulders of his lover with light fingertips. Gently placing a kiss on the nape of his lover's neck, he lets out a soft sleepy sigh, "Armand..."

"EXCUSEZ-MOI?!"

Full consciousness slams into Louis faster than a bullet train. Oh shit...

Lestat is already sobbing hysterically.
