DoesItPlay?
DoesItPlay? is a community dedicated to game preservation and customer rights. We test physical games and their respective hardware to tell you what you get for your money and whether the products can be used for years to come. Can they be played without any additional tools, patches, accounts & log-ins and checks that require an internet connection (e.g. DRM)? We aim to tell you whether or not everything works fine right out of the box or if you are at the mercy of third parties to access your legally purchased goods. Our test reports cover the following: General playability without internet Playability without patches Content-completeness Severity of bugs we might come across Cross-references to other versions of a game (if tested/known) Disclaimer: While we thoroughly test as much as we can, there are limits to our resources. We can't 100% every 1000-hour JRPG. We can't travel to every pixel of modern open-world games. But we can beat campaigns, we can do tons of sidequests and we can hoard collectibles until the last drop of coffee. If we say, you can enjoy a game, you can... provided that you like a certain type of game in general, of course. We share our findings on our social channels and on our website. Our database already consists of more than 3000 tests and growing. With a small team we run this endeavor entirely in our spare time - almost everything financed out of our own pockets.
