See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

Sounds perfect Wahhhh, I don’t wanna

Hi :)

I’ve gotten a lot of new followers recently, so I figured I’d post a bit of an introduction. This blog usually follows whatever my current hyperfixation is, and it is definitely not structured. It mostly lives off of reblogs, though I’ll make the occasional original post. I’m here to have fun, and I’m happy to talk to people.

Currently, most of my posts are F1 related, and I think that’s where most new people have come from, so a bit of F1 related info about me.

My favourites: Charles Leclerc, Max Verstappen, Oscar Piastri, and Alex Albon. I like them all, but if it comes to battles between them I support them in the order their mentioned (with some exceptions such as home races). Also, generally I’m a Ferrari fan, though these guys will usually get priority over Lewis. As it’s a new season, I’m currently on the rookie hype, so I’ll count them to my favourites for now too. I do post a lot of Lestappen content.

I am a hater, cause it makes sport more fun, so if you’re a McLaren (not Oscar), Lando Norris, or George Russell fan, either make sure to block anti [name] tags or you might not want to follow me. Obviously, I am well aware that these are real people and I don’t know them, haterism is just a part of being a fan in my opinion.

Outside of F1 I mostly post: 9-1-1, Dan and Phil, Supernatural, history posts and the odd 1D content, though this changes with my current obsessions.

It’s nice to meet you all!

Why did “be critical of your media” turn into “find all its flaws and hate it” why did people become allergic to FUN

sayitwithsarcophilus

Because people confuse “critical as in critical thinking” with “critical as in criticizing something,” so they think that “look for something bad, no matter how far-fetched” is what “being critical” means.

They also don’t realize that “literary criticism” means…

Okay. What literary criticism IS, is like taking a mechanical clock apart to see all the gears and learn how it fits together and approach your next clock with more knowledge of what makes it tick.

What they THINK literary criticism means is, you take the clock apart and beat all the pieces with a hammer, then scream at it because it doesn’t tick for you the way it used to.

Tumblr is ruled by fandoms, but which fandoms rule the hardest?

This week and every week hereafter, we’ll be figuring it out by tallying all the searches, tags, reblogs, and likes that go rumbling through our corridors. The result? Fandometrics. A pleasingly scientific ranking of the fandoms on Tumblr.

Here’s a little preview of the #2 fandoms for each category of fandom we’re studying. Why #2? So you can enjoy the suspense of clicking through to find out #1.

#2 TV Show: The Legend of Korra

#2 Movie: Big Hero 6

#2 Musical Act: One Direction

#2 Celebrity: Chris Evans

#2 Video Game: Dragon Age

#2 Web Celeb: AmazingPhil

Find out the #1’s (and #3’s through #20’s) over at Fandometrics.

Last week, the entire editorial staff at Tumblr (my shiniest unicorns, my untamed rabbits, my very good amazing talented brilliant wonderful friends) were laid off bringing a very unceremonious end to the proudest moment of my career, @fandom fka The Fandometrics.

I just got an email repeating last week’s Week in Review (and i guess will continue to receive it forever because there’s no one to turn it off?) and i wanted to pour one out for the thing that brought me the most joy in my career and continued life after I moved on from Tumblr. I’ve been in deep mourning for everything this layoff has meant for Tumblr in general but today the reality of it really hit me. The radar (maybe one of the last human-curated things on the internet?) will just repeat the same 5 posts forever. There will be no more big weeks on Tumblr. Just silence on that blog I fought so hard for for so many years. The blog that my team went on to nourish and grow and do amazing things with in the past four years. That’s it. No goodbyes.

So here’s the first staff post about it. Tumblr, thank you for letting me do weird library science with my little spreadsheets and terminal scripts and all the ships that ever passed through anyone’s dash. Thank you to every person who ever touched the TagCat and made magic happen on that blog.

Fandometrics you will always be famous.

Folks, backup your Tumblrs, for real this time

jv

To be clear, I don't have any news about any impending doom. But I've heard a bit more about what's going on with staff after the layoff of last week, and there are even less people than I thought still working here.

I don't think even the current staff know what's going to happen, but honestly, I don't see how the high ups could even pretend to intend to keep this place open while virtually unstaffed.

As per usual, here is our guide to different Tumblr Backup options:
