Christy Chai reposted thisChristy Chai reposted thisPHP2Shell is the name for two critical PHP flaws (CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619, both CVSS 9.2). An unauthenticated attacker can execute code on the web server or read its process memory. The flaw is in PHP itself. WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, Magento, and Laravel are all exposed on an affected PHP version. Patching is the only complete fix. In the meantime, attackers with code execution still act on the host. They execute shell commands, drop webshells, download custom payloads, and open outbound connections. SentinelOne protects against this attack technique to stop such attacks at runtime. Christy Chai reposted thisThank you Gwenda for sharing this and for the steady work Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) does for our community. I fully agree that cybersecurity is a shared responsibility, and none of us can carry it alone. To the security leaders and teams working through this right now, we know how stretched you may already be, and we want you to know you’re not on your own. A few steps worth taking right away: - Update every PHP runtime to a fixed version, then restart Apache, PHP FPM, and any long running workers. - Take stock of your internet facing PHP, including the copies bundled inside appliances, control panels, and vendor software. - Keep end of life PHP (8.1 and older) off the internet until it can be upgraded. Rotate credentials, tokens, and keys that a PHP worker could hold in memory on any exposed, unpatched system. - Follow the official PHP changelog for further updates. If it helps, we’ve shared more detail in this blog: https://lnkd.in/g3qTQD_J #Cybersecurity #PHP #VulnerabilityManagement #CyberResilience #SharedResponsibility.Christy Chai reposted thisUrgent: Organisations in Singapore should act now to address critical PHP vulnerabilities. Two critical vulnerabilities, collectively known as PHP2Shell (CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619), have been discovered in PHP, a technology widely used to power websites and online services. These vulnerabilities are particularly concerning because attackers could exploit affected systems without needing login credentials, potentially taking control of web servers, stealing data or disrupting services. PHP is widely used, including in websites built on platforms such as WordPress, Drupal and Joomla. Many organisations, especially SMEs that rely on external IT vendors or hosting providers, may not realise that their systems are affected. The threat is immediate. Working exploits have been demonstrated, and security patches were released on 21 October. The priority now is to identify and patch vulnerable systems before attackers can exploit them. CSA is working urgently with government agencies, Critical Information Infrastructure owners, major enterprises and industry partners to accelerate patching. We are also reaching out through business associations, cybersecurity service providers and technology partners to help smaller organisations take action. My message to every organisation in Singapore is simple: do not wait. If you operate a website or online service: 1. Check whether your systems, including those managed by third-party vendors, use affected versions of PHP. 2. Patch immediately, prioritising internet-facing systems. 3. Investigate whether there are signs that your systems may already have been compromised. If you are unsure whether your organisation is affected, contact your IT team, website developer or hosting provider today. Cybersecurity is a shared responsibility. Acting quickly now can prevent a vulnerability from becoming a serious incident. Christy Chai reposted thisChristy Chai reposted thisAI was the headline at GovWare. Securing it was the real story. Three days at GovWare 2026, part of Singapore International Cyber Week, and every conversation came back to two questions. How fast can we adopt AI? And who is securing it? For governments and critical infrastructure, there is a third: where does it run, and who controls it? 🖥️ 🚀 Some missions are air-gapped. Many are hybrid. Others are fully cloud. That is why SentinelOne remains committed to our on-premises journey. Wherever you run, we protect your endpoints, servers and cloud workloads, and secure you against AI threats, without compromising data sovereignty or control. Two highlights for me: Having Shaun Williams joined SG Defence Cyber Chief BG Clarence Cai on a panel moderated by Stanley Tsang of Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) on making threat intelligence count at the leadership level. The takeaway was simple. Intelligence only matters when it turns signal into action. We also hosted a CISO Roundtable with Lenovo and Blackpanda on how we jointly protect our customers in the age of AI. Real conversations with security leaders, and a strong example of what partnership looks like when the stakes are high. No one secures it alone, so thank you: 💠 To our sponsors and partners, Netpoleon Singapore, for co-hosting this journey with us. Our partners are an extension of our team. That is the spirit of PartnerOne. 💠 To our customers and partners who stopped by and challenged us, for your time and trust especially our Korean customers and Asean delegations, who specially came over to attend this event and a chance for us to host you. 💠 To Imperium, for the joint partnership and for trusting SentinelOne #PromptSecurity as part of your AI security journey. This is securing AI in the real world. 💠 To our executive Andrew Howell and our speakers Shaun Williams and Vitaly Kamluk for your support. 💠 To my team, for the early mornings ☕ , long days and energy you brought to every conversation. 💪 💠 To Choon Hua Goh & GovWare Project Team - for making this event a great success. Christy Chai reposted thisChristy Chai reposted thisThere’s no shortage of cybersecurity news. A new attack technique emerges. Regulations shift. Adversaries change tactics. The same challenge keeps coming up in my conversations with CISOs, CIOs, Boards and government leaders across the region: there’s no shortage of information, but making sense of what really matters is getting harder. So I’m trying something new: The Security Brief, a short weekly video series where I cut through the noise on what matters in security right now. Five minutes. One topic. The signal without the noise. What happened; Why it matters; And what I think security leaders should do next. No jargon. No unnecessary complexity. Just perspectives you can hopefully put to work. A new Security Brief every week. And I’d love your input: what’s happening in security right now that you think deserves a deeper look? https://lnkd.in/gPRQtFCz #TheSecurityBrief #Cybersecurity #APJ #SentinelOne #CybersecAsia #govware

Christy Chai shared thisDay 2 of #GovWare2026 ✅ What a day! We hosted two closed-door roundtables, one with enterprise leaders and one with government leaders, plus a packed schedule of 1:1 meetings. The focus: the threat landscape in the AI era, and real-world case studies from across our region. The conversations were candid and insightful, and a clear theme emerged: adversaries are already using AI, so defenders need to move faster, smarter and more autonomously. A big thank you to our speakers Shaun Williams, Andrew Howell and Vitaly Kamluk for sharing their expertise and frontline insights. 🙏 And thank you to every leader who joined us and shared openly. 📍 Today is Day 3, the final day! Christy Chai shared thisThe world runs on AI. Every industry, every region, every organization I talk to is moving fast on it. But the question that comes up most — from banks to government agencies to healthcare providers — isn't "should we adopt AI." It's "how do we do it without losing control of our data." For most organisations, the answer is the cloud, done right. For government agencies and select regulated environments, it's more specific than that — on-premise or fully air-gapped, because that's what the mission requires and nothing less will do. That's the range we've built SentinelOne to cover: 🔹 Autonomous Security Intelligence + AI-Native SOC 🔹 Agentic detection and response that acts, not just alerts 🔹 On-premise and air-gapped deployment for environments where sovereignty isn't negotiable 🔹 24/7 Expert MDR, wherever your infrastructure lives Same platform. Tailored to how your organisation actually operates. If you're wrestling with what secure AI adoption looks like in practice — not in theory — Come find us at Booth H25, 13–15 October, from 9am daily. What's the biggest blocker to adopting AI securely in your organization right now? 👇 #GovWare2026 #SentinelOne #AISecurity

Christy Chai reposted thisChristy Chai reposted thisIt's #durian season. If you've ever peeled one open, you've seen perfect #security architecture. The husk is chaos — spiky, intimidating, actively hostile to casual handling. Most attackers stop there. But peel through and you hit the fibrous layer, then the cream, then finally the pit. Each barrier serves a purpose. Each requires a different tool or technique to breach. Strip one layer and you've revealed only the next puzzle. That's how security should work. Not separate tools for endpoint, identity, cloud, and data. Distributed, observable, unified — one #platform seeing the entire attack chain across every surface. When an adversary pivots from endpoint to cloud to identity to exfil, most teams see three separate incidents. Singularity Platform sees one story — behavioral AI flagging the anomaly across endpoint, cloud, identity, and data layers in real time. Purple AI synthesizes the chronicle. Autonomous response acts. One data lake. One investigation. One narrative. The asymmetry isn't speed anymore. It's coherence. Attackers exploit the seams between your tools. Platforms eliminate the seams. Most teams are still building castles with separate towers. The best ones are building durians — layered, connected, resilient. Thank you to everyone who was part of the conversation — this is the next step towards a more cyber-safe Singapore. It was a privilege to host a meaningful discussion on how cyber threats are evolving, and why a layered approach to security — from WAF to MFA — is no longer optional. We uncovered the harsh truth — the latest SPF report shows phishing scams remain the most common scam in Singapore, costing victims millions. This doesn’t have to be our norm. We can stop this. More webinars are coming as we continue expanding these conversations across the region. Follow D2G SECURITY PTE LTD to stay updated on upcoming sessions and insights. #CyberSafeSingapore #PerimeterSecurity #DigitalTrust #StopPhishing

Last week at the KL Cybersecurity Summit, I spoke with many CIOs and FSI security leaders. One alarming finding: ~50% didn't know SSL/TLS certificate lifecycles are shrinking from 398 days to 100 days (2027) and 47 days (2029). Simply put: your website's "passport" goes from renewing once a year to every 6 weeks. Manual renewal will eventually fail. At NH2, we're helping FSI teams automate this with IBM Guardian — from code to production. If this is on your radar, let's connect. #RMiT #FSI #Cybersecurity #SSL #CertificateManagement #Malaysia #NH2 #IBMGuardian #CyberSecuritySummit
