This is a project that I’m really excited to do, this is a poster set called “Black Women of the Comic Universe”. It depicts some of the unsung black women who are within the comic universe but might not have had the light shone on them yet or their story hasn’t been fully developed. We have seen a lot of progress in movies and TV lately in terms of representing POC but there is still a lot of work to be done.
In the current state of the US, I think it’s important to show solidarity with each other in the battle against systematic oppression and discrimination of our fellow man based on the color of their skin. I firmly support the BLM movement and always will. I will try to pay homage to each of these characters the best I can and include descriptions of each of them. I found doing the research on them to be the most fun. Their stories are all very cool but for real.. I want a Crimson Avenger movie like yesterday.
This set is a culmination of recoloring a base game poster as well as a lot of research on each individual character to give a good description for everyone! It was really hard to get a good quality, clear picture in live mode (probably just something on my end I need to fix -.-) but the pictures above a what is in the frames.
You can read about each individual character below the cut as well as find the download link at the very bottom. I encourage you to take the time to read about them. Some have short stories but a couple of them will blow you away! Stay tuned for the next two sets!
