Grand Theft Auto 6 is officially expected to launch this year, barring any further delays of course. While fans are tempering their expectations for the year, new information has some players becoming more and more confident about this year's launch.

According to reports (via Reddit), the massive trove of GTA 6 leaks that were released last year to GameRoll (via X) have been "confirmed" by Rockstar after a court proceeding where the company cited its well-established zero-tolerance policy on leaks as grounds for firing multiple employees.

While the leaks are somewhat older, GTA 6 information that is essentially confirmed now includes the game's use of weight mechanics, a "relationship bar" system, different gameplay modes such as solo or dual-protagonist options, specific character details, and much more.

GTA 6 Is Kicking Off 2026 With A Confirmed Leak

With GTA 6's official release scheduled for November 2026, fans are looking for any and every piece of new information they can get their hands on. After recent confirmation that Rockstar did fire employees at multiple branches for what appear to be GTA 6-related leaks, it's worth taking a look at previous leaked information to see exactly what's true and what isn't.

GameRoll's 2025 list of leaks has been unofficially accepted as very likely to be true up to this point, but Rockstar's recent comments on its controversial firing of multiple employees last year suggest that these leaks were legitimate. The confirmation makes a lot of sense when you look at the larger context, and suggests that the leaks may not have been an act of carelessness on the devs' part.

Fans like Midnight_M_ speculate that the fired leakers could have been motivated by poor working conditions "and a toxic environment" at Rockstar Games. Regardless of what was going on behind the scenes, players may want to revisit the various leaks reported over the past year and put a little more stock in the information.

These Are Older Leaks, But Now We Know They're Legit

Since it's highly unlikely that further GTA 6 information is going to leak before the game's anticipated release this year, GameRoll's 2025 leaks and others that came before it are probably your best bet when it comes to actual gameplay details about the game. While Rockstar hasn't come out and said explicitly that these leaks are confirmed, these recent revelations are the closest players are going to get to that.

The leaks from GameRoll are extensive, including details about both what is and isn't going to be in GTA 6 at launch, such as the lack of a Panhandle in the game's Florida-inspired setting of Leonida, the game having five official chapters, and much more.

While GTA 6 leaks should always be taken with a grain of salt, the newest update regarding Rockstar's union-busting case may finally connect some missing dots that ultimately confirm GameRoll's extensive list of leaks from last year. It's been an exciting start to the year for Grand Theft Auto 6 fans, and it's only getting started.
