This is more late 1840s than early 1840s. Could work for early 1850s, even. Named after a somewhat niche opera character. I think she’d like this dress.
It’s nothing fancy. 6 packages, 2 meshes, 150 swatches, 2 color overlays. I did some math and there should be 307,200 combinations. Can’t guarantee my math is correct though.
Two fairly similar outfits for boys and girls. It feels a little blasphemous calling them 1830s. The sleeves aren’t nearly impressive enough.
These were possibly going to be accompanied by some outfits for 1830s adults but… Nah.
Norton Tunic
The skeleton suit fell out of fashion in the 30s, being replaced by these tunics. Probably an improvement. Since it’s the successor to the skeleton suit, it’s most suitable for younger boys, like… 4-9. No older than 10, I’d say. Older boys would wear suits similar to the ones worn by men.

No arbitrary age restrictions on this one. It’s suitable for most of a girl’s childhood. Girls have it so easy, huh? Sarcasm.
High fashion can come from low places. In a style I like to think of as Nouveau Derelicte, I’m reimagining trash as couture. Those boots at the bottom of the pond, they were made for walking…the runway. I’ve paired them with @deedee-sims’ conversion of EP09DungareesDenim for a look that’s eye-catching and eco-friendly.
This is just the first slightly squishy step in a massive rebranding of kaluxsims to focus on reclaimed junk as designer gear.

As requested by anon, these are the recolors of the Island Living corrugated roof by amoebae, converted to Sims 2. There are 48 roof swatches in total. Files are compressorized. Preview images of each roof swatch are included to make picking and choosing easier, but remember to delete the images before placing the files in your downloads.
But before you download, there are two different versions of this download. If you have a mod installed to make roofs brighter in game, download the “mod” version. If you do not have a mod to make roofs brighter in game, download the “nomod” version. Do not install both.
Roofs are like objects and each have a unique GUID. I used the same GUIDs for both the mod and no mod version, so they will conflict with one another… and there is zero point in installing them both, because they’re the exact same roofs, just one compensating for the mod and one not. If you’re not sure whether or not you have a brightening mod installed, install the nomod version. If the roofs appear blindingly bright, install the mod version. Or vice versa. Install the mod version, if the roofs come out extremely dark, remove the mod version and install the nomod version. But once again, do not have both in your downloads folder at the same time.

PLEASEput your name in your filename. One, someone will have a clue who it’s by when they go to find more by you or to finally organize their Mods folder. Two, you’re less likely to end up with the exact same filename as another creator.
PLEASE put your name FIRST in your filename. Alphabetization is super useful. It’s less useful to alphabetize by the cute name you gave that hair or set of chairs.
PLEASE, for the love of all things Sims, consider not only using your initials. My Mods folder now has three different creators whose files start “MM”. There might be even more of you MM’s out there.

Downloaders…
Just rename the files. That’s it. You download, you unzip, you put in the appropriate subfolder, you rename according to your preferred convention. The creator went through the trouble of making the thing and uploading it for you, you can go through the trouble of simply renaming the file. I promise it’s not that hard. If you won’t or can’t keep your folders organized for whatever reason, I’m afraid that is your problem, not creators’.
As a creator (TS2), I strive to name my files clearly, succinctly and consistently. However, not everyone likes the same file-naming convention, and you will never make everyone adopt the same. You will never make me put my name first on my CAS cc. I will always put the age + M/F code first, then my name (eg. af_Leto_FabulousOutfit), because that’s how I’ve always organized the stuff in my own folder. Alphabetization is indeed very useful, but not everyone uses it in the same way. I don’t organize the CAS cc in my folder by creators, so having their name as the first thing is not something I want. Luckily there is a solution. Whenever I download files that aren’t named according to my preference, I rename them.
If you’re downloading CC you’ll always benefit from working out your own organisation system first and foremost, especially when it comes to merging CC you have to save your load times. Creators will only be able to make it easier for you in the ways that make sense to them, it’s a good idea to make it make sense to you on your end too, I promise you’ll thank yourself later ♡
Outfit organiser and Object relocator by Pic'N'Mix. Holy shit. Holy fuck. How can the fandom not talk about them more? I am sorting my downloads folder and they’re just SO GOOD. Of course, they don’t eliminate the need to go into simpe/the game to test stuff, but they sure help with sorting and weird file names. If these programs sound new to anyone, please look into them…
This post is fuelled by how bad google algorithms are and how annoying it was to actually find what those programs are called + only hearing about them about once. These utilities deserve more spotlight!

There is no one-size-fits-all solution to oppression. Each individual person’s experience is different. Whatever trauma is caused by their oppression, the activism should focus on undoing it.
