Glimmer wants to spend the summer before senior year sightseeing in CA and going to the big Powerline concert, a last hurrah before she’s locked into the responsibilities of college applications and the plan her mother has for the rest of her life. 

Angella sees it as the perfect chance for her daughter to get a head-start on her future and for the two to repair their strained relationship by taking a road trip to visit all the best universities, networking with important contacts along the way. 

But Glimmer wants to stand out (above the crowd) and her mom’s being so cringe! They clash over her hair, her clothes and the person they each want Glimmer to become (and the person Angella used to be).
