@revueofmaya

there is yuri everywhere for those with the eyes to see. writer in progress.

im not sure which concept is funnier, Supergirl accidentally punching someone straight into L-Corp and Lena going out to her balcony to yell “keep it down a little, would you?” and then walking back to her office all annoyed while people are properly panicking OR Supergirl crashing through like six walls before landing on the floor of Lena’s office, Lena just looking up from her work unfazed like “do you need some help, darling”

Kara skids to a stop by Lena’s desk, Lena opens a drawer, drops a capri sun in Kara’s hand and kicks her back out the window

saw someone point out that in jackie's death dream she imagined shauna the way she's always seen her: kind, gentle and full of nothing but love for jackie, even though that version of shauna never completely existed, whereas shauna hallucinated a version of jackie that was incredibly mean and only made jokes at shauna's expense and acted like she's above shauna in every way, when that version of jackie never completely existed either. but both of those versions were the warped way they perceived each other. day ruined

“what if kids identify with something and it ends up just being a phase-?” good. stop teaching and expecting kids (and adults honestly) to formulate permanent traits and ideas of themselves. everything in life is a phase. that doesn’t make it any less legitimate while you experience it. let people explore themselves and know it’s okay if what you think about yourself changes.

Life itself is a phase. You were not alive, then you were alive, then you weren't anymore. And in the scheme of things, you were alive for far less time then you were not. It was a phase.

Not sure if anyone else made this comparison yet :)

One day i’ll make an “oh, vivienne…” collection but these are probably the most important ones

Sugardaddy/sugarbaby relationship but the one with money is an annoying 23 year old who like, made a successful app in college or something, and the poor one is a 40-something single dad with medical debt who was just 'made redundant' at his soul-killing job. Mmmmm-hmmmm.... Thinking about this.

i love when characters don't get to die

this is about villains/antagonists/general horrible people who finally face up to what they've done. especially if they try to pull the good ole "Dramatically Does One Good Thing To Redeem Themselves And Dies," but despite their best efforts they DON'T die. like yes motherfucker there's no easy way out for you, there's only the slow, awkward and painful process of learning to live with yourself. of learning to live with the weight of your mistakes. you get a second chance regardless of if you think you deserve it. you get to try to make amends and do good. you get to live.

this is also about every self-sacrificial bastard of a protagonist who puts themselves in harm's way again and again and again to a wildly unhealthy and unnecessary degree. see, there's something so compelling to me in the unspoken suicidality of repeated heroic self-sacrifice, and the thing about implicitly suicidal characters is that i want them to live. and that can be used to make a death so much more tragic and impactful - noble sacrifices and last stands certainly can and have been done beautifully - but there's also something special to me in seeing such a character make it. because you'd die for the people you love, yes, but would you live for them?

U.S. conservatives always talk about creating jobs but get SO MAD whenever anyone mentions banning prison labor like imagine the insane ammout of jobs that would be created literally overnight if companies in your country had to actually employ people instead of using slave labor from people that got caught with weed 10 years ago.

Daily reminder that the US, who love to scaremonger about "communist labour camps," have legal slave labour if you're in prison
