Far Apart was a 90's indie emo band hailing from Luleå, Sweden, active from 1995 to 1999. Far Apart crafted a unique sound blending the raw energy of Fugazi and the melodic intensity of Jawbox and Sunny Day Real Estate.
In November 1997, they released their first 7",Hazel, through Swedish indie label Carcrash. The record caught international attention and was licensed by U.S.-based Crank! Records—the home of emo legends like Mineral and Boys Life—hitting American shelves in May 1998. Known for their passionate live shows, Far Apart stayed true to their DIY and anti-corporate ethos. Despite offers from major labels, the band maintained their independence, a testament to their punk rock roots. Though their time together was brief, the band's legacy endures as a snapshot of indie emo at its most heartfelt and uncompromising.
