Bismuth and Pearl had tagged with Steven and Connie to see the final installment of lonely blade in theaters. They had bonded over the misuse of swords in human entertainment.
Bismuth chose seats for her and Pearl far in the back of the theater, as not to disturb Steven and connie .
The theater had big comfy leather seats, perfect for Bismuth’s size, but she still took up the whole thing.
They had gotten there early, and previews were still playing as they settled in.
“So.” Bismuth said, propping her elbow on the armrest, “Any predictions for this movie?”
“It’s going to be full of inaccuracies.” Pearl replied with a smirk. “But that’s why we’re here.”
Bismuth smiled. “That’s not the only reason I’m here.”
“Oh?”
“I wanted to spend time with you.” Bismuth’s smile turned sheepish as she spoke.
Pearl blushed for a little while before she answered. “You flatter me too much..”
“I’m 100% serious, though. Why do you think I’ve been spending all this time with you, huh? I wouldn’t have done it if I didn’t like it.”
Bismuth shook her head. “No, I don’t like it. I love it. I love spending time with you, because I love...” she stopped herself.
“Love what?” Pearl asked, pressing for more.
Bismuth froze. She had already said too much, got carried away.
“Love...Uh.. Hey! The movie’s starting.”
“Oh.” Pearl said, a bit disappointed that she couldn’t find out what Bismuth was going to say. But she had an idea on what it was. So she decided to make a bold move.
“Do you mind if we sit a bit closer?” Pearl asked.
“To what?” Bismuth was confused.
“Together.”
“Sure..” Bismuth was thankful for the darkness, which masked her blazing cheeks.
Pearl didn’t specify how close, so she just sat on Bismuth’s lap.
Bismuth felt as if her face was dunked in lava. She unconsciously tensed, not expecting to have the gem she was pining to sit on her lap. Pearl sensed the tension. Too bold? She thought, worry nudging its way into her mind.
She suddenly had the confidence to shrug it off.
“You’re so tense.” Pearl purred. “Are you worried about something?”
Bismuth cleared her throat. “Ah..no.” She relaxed. “N-not at all.”
Pearl hummed, cuddling up into her arms. This was her version of flirting, and if Bismuth realized she was flirting...who knows what would happen.
Bismuth looked down at Pearl, who looked back up at her. Adorable.
Was this some plan of Pearl’s? To get her somewhere dark and close and...
Well, she was definitely on board.
“Hello there Princess.” Bismuth whispered. “Is the movie not doing it for you?”
“I’m afraid so.”
“Mm. Well, maybe we should go somewhere..just us...I’m sure Steven and Connie can handle themselves.”
Pearl caressed Bismuth’s cheek with her palm.
“I’m positive they can...and by the way, could you possibly carry me?”
Bismuth chuckled, swooping up Pearl.
“Always, doll.”
“SHHHHHHHHHH”
Steven and Connie had shushed them, and Pearl and Bismuth decided it was time for them to go.
