I’m 31. This blog is mostly sfw, but does occasionally contain adult-oriented content. If you are a minor following me, I expect you to block the “nsfw” tag so these posts are blocked, and to not interact with them. This blog also will occasionally contain graphic depictions of violence and blood.
I’m okay with anything I post being reblogged unless it’s tagged with “please don’t reblog” or some variation thereof.
If you don’t want me to answer an ask publicly, please say so as I will usually do so. I am also open to private DMs. Anons are usually on and usually it’s fine to ask me anything as long as it’s genuine/in good faith, just put warnings ahead of anything explicit, suggestive, or potentially disturbing so my followers can be warned if I answer publicly.
I will tag things if you ask me to, as long as it’s not too difficult to do so. I already tag commonly blocked things like nsfw, gore, and blood. I have also been asked to tag spiders, trypophobia, blood, and weed so I will do my best to remember.
I write as a hobby. Most of my current writing is original works. Some of them have illustrations/visuals, but you are free to imagine the characters differently if you like. what if you slept all day and woke at night, lonely and frustrated. what if you couldn’t go to social events, or even mundane public spaces like stores. what if you couldn’t see the sun. what if you couldn’t go to the pool, or the beach, or the creek. what if you couldn’t eat what everyone else is eating. what if you couldn’t eat at all. what if your basic needs came at the cost of your loved ones’ quality of life. what if you became agitated, confused, maybe even violent if your needs weren’t met. what if people blamed your behavior on demons, or worse, your own inherent evil. what if people saw you as a threat to your own community. what if the default response to your suffering was either indifference or violence. what if people thought you were better off dead, that you no longer count as human, that they’re doing you a favor by letting you disappear. what if people assumed you must somehow deserve all of this. what about that.
It’s hilarious to me how Colossal Biosciences wants to be movie-version John Hammond but are 100% book-version John Hammond. In the Jurassic Park novel, it’s very clear: John Hammond is a con artist who gives people an illusion, not the truth. He knew from the beginning that what he was making weren’t dinosaurs, but he didn’t care because he had a story to sell. He wasn’t just “filling in gaps” with the frog dna, his scientists were basically making things up from whole cloth and he had no pretence about it- but he also knew what the public wanted to believe.
These are not dire wolves. These are GMO gray wolves. Dire wolves aren’t even in the same genus as gray wolves, and we know this from genetics.
What Colossal is doing is scamming the public. They want you to believe that they can pull off miracles. They can’t. It’s the flea circus where everything is mechanised, but because you want to believe, you “see” the fleas. They might be good at genetic modification and they might be good at hyping themselves up, but they haven’t de-extincted the dire wolf. They didn’t activate mammoth genes in a mouse. They are lying to you and they’re going to keep doing it. Don’t believe the hype.
i think one of the most important things you learn about making connections with others is that a significant portion of the time people just do not know theyre doing what theyre doing
sometimes someone is acting selfish because they just didnt think you had any interest in what theyre hogging. sometimes you dont get invited to the movies because your friend could have sworn that you said no. sometimes you think someone is mad at you because theyre bad at hiding how little sleep they got. we are all like little worlds that briefly crash into one another from time to time and we just arent physically capable of seeing the whole picture at once in those moments. and learning that really changed everything!
every day i think about how wild vaporeon would live mostly in the water but come to shore to have their pups (eevee), and then would probably groom their pups in a special way to trap air bubbles in their soft fur to make them more bouyant so they can float unaided on the water. and then as soon as the eevee have control of their little legs they’re being taught how to swim, so you could come to a lake at a certain time of year ans see a vaporeon swimming around with a tiny soaked eevee paddling along behind it like
