Mist on the Furby

@nekomatafurby

Meet Her Majesty Mysteria, Lady of the Lake, Mist on the Water, Devouer of Quasars, April, All Shall Love Her and Despair: she goes by Mist. She will have some siblings in the future, and there may be some other projects. As for me: she/they

Endlessly diabolical how you can't say words like rape and suicide uncensored without either being criticised by idiots or punished by conglomerates.

It's not r*pe, it's rape. It's not su*cide, it's suicide. Not unalive, dead. The backbone needs to be reintroduced en masse because softening the blow of these concepts with advertising language does absolutely nothing but allow people unaffected by them to feel not even a sting of what they can do, prompting inaction.

And it's been proven that on certain websites, you don't even face a repercussion for using the words as they are. People just started censoring themselves because they feared the potential lack of views and likes and followers which is so nasty itself.

highly recommend keeping a small portrait of a historical figure who met a grisly end on your work desk. for perspective.

me: oh thomas cromwell, we're really in it now. every day i get emails.

the postcard of thomas cromwell i keep on my desk: i was on committees with the duke of norfolk. and they beheaded me.

me: yep. good point.

me: cromwell. cromwell this post has got too big and famous and people are starting to misunderstand me on it.

the postcard of thomas cromwell i keep on my desk: oh no! you achieved too much fame and status? and now people are misrepresenting you? should we strip your lands and title? have you been beheaded?

me: YES ALRIGHT FINE

pitter patter putter patter *you look down and see this*

Okay but this is exactly what I love.

The above image is a historical artifact. Colima dog. It dates back to circa 100 BCE-300 CE. (x)

And, around two thousand years later it was originally shaped with care, painted with love, and adored… someone draws it. Draws it using a new technological device that allows modern people to shape things with care, paint with love, and even move them -on a screen, glowing.

And the said person decides to share it with the world. The whole world adores it.

I love the connection between past and today. We were humans back then, and we are still the same.

Cute dog :)

I’m sure someones already said this but I often see Tumblr described as a hellsite. This is fundamentally incorrect.

Tumblr is the faesite. Everybody is super confused and lost, you keep running into random places. Somehow you end up stuck there forever after interacting a couple of times. The people are all strange, everybody simultaneously seems to be from the future and the past as if time is meaningless.

YES

also technology breaks at random, and sometimes you just suddenly feel a thousand years old

  • everybody has a half dozen names and none of them are their “real” name.
  • which name(s) you know gives you different powers over them.
  • there are Rules but you mostly have to figure them out for yourself.
  • getting the Rules wrong or breaking them can cost you more than you ever even knew you had.
  • Maximum Horny at all times
  • be careful what you wish for or you just might get it
  • Gift Of Prophecy
  • Illegal Use Of Bones
  • Holidays are unusual but important and have very specific rites attached

Some women are conditioned to be fragile and weak, and to believe that it's a sin to outperform a man. Her feminism would involve allowing women to be strong.

Some women are expected to be strong at times when they can't. Her feminism would involve reassuring her that it's okay to not be strong.

Some neurodivergent people are raised to believe that they're too stupid to ever amount to anything. Their disability activism would involve reassuring them that they're capable.

Some neurodivergent people are raised to believe that they're smart and gifted, and are expected to live up to impossible standards. Their disability activism would involve allowing them to fail, make mistakes, be stupid, etc.

Some children are constantly reminded "you're the child, I'm the adult" in order to deny their autonomy. Their youth rights activism would involve treating them like an adult at times when they feel ready for it.

Some children are treated like adults in order to justify increased expectations or to downplay abuse against them. Their youth rights activism would involve allowing them to be a child.

There is no one-size-fits-all solution to oppression. Each individual person's experience is different. Whatever trauma is caused by their oppression, the activism should focus on undoing it.

You live with your parents? Then you're a loser. Also, if they abuse you or if you have trauma from them abusing you in the past, you must sit back and take it.

You go above and beyond at work and be the best possible employee? You're rewarded with more work and maybe a tiny raise. You deserve your pitiful wage because you agreed to it.

You go to school to learn more skills so you can get a better job in the future? Then you deserve to suffer under debt for the rest of your life for making such a poor financial decision.

You steal? Then you're a dangerous thug and you always will be.

You sell drugs to make extra income? Then you're the scum of the earth and you're singlehandedly responsible for every single drug-related death that happens.

You become a sex worker? Then you deserve to be raped. Raping you doesn't even count as raping a human because you're not a human.

You try to change the system so poverty stops happening? Then you're a threat to this country's principles of freedom.

You get an abortion because you know that you'd never be able to raise a child? Then you're a cold blooded murderer and should be put to death.

No matter what you do to escape poverty, people will be downright hostile toward you. People will advocate for your suffering and say that you deserve it. Yet somehow they're able to have zero hostility toward those who profit from all of this suffering.

Working class conservatives are like, "Why are you throwing bricks at me?"

I'm not. I'm throwing bricks at the rich people who are expoiting both of us for their own profit. You just keep jumping in the way.

When you were a teenager and you wished to be treated like an adult, it's not because you were stupid or a "know it all". It's because for literally your entire life so far, you not being an adult was used as a justification to abuse you. When that happens, it's only natural to insist that you're an adult as soon as it seems even remotely possible.
