I don't post any content yet, I just reblog stuff :)

one of my favorite things to do in limited perspective is write sentences about the things someone doesn't do. he doesn't open his eyes. he doesn't reach out. i LOVE sentences like that. if it's describing the narrator, it's a reflection of their desires, something they're holding themselves back from. there's a tension between urge and action. it makes you ask why they wanted or felt compelled to do that, and also why they ultimately didn't. and if it's describing someone else, it tells you about the narrator's expectations. how they perceive that other person or their relationship. what they thought the other person was going to do, or thought the other person should have done, but failed to. negative action sentences are everything.

My biggest tip for fanfic writers is this: if you get a character's mannerisms and speech pattern down, you can make them do pretty much whatever you want and it'll feel in character.

Logic: Characters, just like real people, are mallable. There is typically very little that's so truly, heinously out of character that you absolutely cannot make it work under any circumstance. In addition, most fans are also willing to accept characterization stretches if it makes the fic work. Yeah, we all know the villain and the hero wouldn't cuddle for warmth in canon. But if they did do that, how would they do it?

What counts is often not so much 'would the character do this?' and more 'if the character did do this, how would they do it?' If you get 'how' part right, your readers will probably be willing to buy the rest, because it will still feel like their favourite character. But if it doesn't feel like the character anymore, why are they even reading the fic?

Worry less about whether a character would do something, and more about how they'd sound while doing it.

i KNOW im beating a dead horse but we were so robbed and i could genuinely talk about this for hours. THE DYNAMIC OF CHLOE BEING ADRIENS CHILDHOOD BEST FRIEND/ONLY FRIEND. they both have shitty parents, they ARE each others family. she thinks she's in love with adrien but realizes it's familial, not romantic. she's marinettes bully but grows as a person with ladybug & adrien's encouragement. SHE CHANGES BECAUSE SHE LOVES ADRIEN LIKE A BROTHER AND SHE BEGRUDGINGLY WARMS UP TO MARINETTE BUT THEY NEVER TRULY BECOME FRIENDS UNTIL AFTER ADRIEN AND MARINETTE GET MARRIED BECAUSE SHE THINKS MARINETTE WILL HURT HIM LIKE HIS FATHER. SHES THE MOST OVERPROTECTIVE SISTER TO HIM. SHE STAYS THE SAME UPPITY RICH GIRL WITH A HEART OF GOLD BECAUSE SHE ADMITS HER FLAWS AND STRUGGLES BUT STILL KEEPS A MASK UP MOST OF THE TIME. SHE LOVES LADYBUG AND CANT STAND CHAT NOIR UNTIL THE REVEAL BECAUSE THATS HILARIOUS. THE POTENTIAL KEEPS ME UP AT NIGHT. i will NEVER accept what we got.

BECAUSE WHAT A WASTE OF A WONDERFUL CHARACTER. SOMEBODY SEDATE ME.

I think Box ghost was onto something

So, I work for Spirit Halloween during the summer before school starts up again, and part of my job was to save boxes that were in good condition so my coworkers can pack up any unsold merchandise at the end of the season and.....

I think I get it. This is so satisfying, and you really start to appreciate good quality boxes when you spend hours sorting and organizing them.

TL:DR, ⬆️ He valid

I keep seeing Danny Phantom/DC crossovers, and Billy Batson Gets Adopted AUs, and they're almost always with them getting taken in by the Batfamily. And I get it. 'Bruce Wayne adopts any dark haired blue eyed child that stays still long enough' has been a thing in comics for decades.

But please, consider

"I want them to be taken in by someone who will help them embrace their powers and isn't a goody two shoes, that's why I think Constantine would be great."

"Okay, but I want them to be adopted by someone who will keep them safe and show them they're loved because they know what it's like having a rough childhood!"

"Someone with experience adopting stray orphan kids and is familiar with the wackiness or angst that comes with that?"

"Fine, but what ab-"

Leonard Snart, guys. Whatever the situation, I can pretty much promise that Lenny is the one you want.

A sketch page to illustrate a scene that we thought of while talking on a Discord server, and toying with the idea of an episode revolving around the concept of Vlad being trapped in a "perfect" dream by Nocturne. Danny wants to wake him up because Nocturne is basically invincible as long as Vlad is asleep and in his clutches, since Vlad is ridiculously powerful, but Vlad is consciously clinging to this dream, finding a refuge in this little angle where nothing hurts and everything is alright.
